Mekey absentmindedly stared at the red, plump dates in his hand and smiled widely. She took them and looked up at him, gesturing for him to crouch down again.
Unsure, Kael complied to her wish. But his eyes widened in shock when the little girl abruptly kissed his cheek.
"Thank you, Brother Kael," she said sweetly, popping a date into her mouth before skipping out of the garden.
Kael stood frozen, staring at the small figure as she disappeared from view. The tips of his ears turned red.
His hand slowly caressed the spot where the little girl had kissed him. Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath before yelling, "You little monkey! How dare you sully this prince! Take responsibility!" He shouted and dashed after her.
Abandoned, Pipo watched the two figures running away with disdain. He scoffed and climbed the tree to pick the dates on his own.
