He stared in disbelief at Pipo—the same monkey he'd dragged along from the galley, who spent most days stealing bananas and playing dead. He stiffly turned to Silas, demanding answers.
But Silas, still reeling from an unbelievable reality, looks too lost to offer any kind of explanation.
With no answers coming his way, Kael decided wisely to remain a silent spectator. He huddled beside Silas, eyes fixed on the bizarre battle unfolding before him.
Pipo, fueled by rage, launched himself at Eros with his claws bared. But the king caught him mid-air with lazy ease, smirking as he tossed the monkey aside.
Standing up, Eros strolled around his desk and leaned against the study table with his arms folded, watching the fuming creature with clear amusement.
