Pipo replied, his gaze drifting toward the window, staring blankly into the distance.
"Before I reached Vulkaris, my sister was already gone. I only managed to save Mirabella."
Eros didn't question him further. Instead, he stood from his chair and approached him, his voice little gentler than before. "Aren't you planning to tell her?"
Pipo knew who he meant. Mirabella. But the thought alone made his chest tighten.
He had no courage to speak of it. He had failed to protect her mother. Now, cursed into this ridiculous, useless creature… he feared she would hate him for his powerlessness.
She was his last blood relation. As for the so-called grandson? He had long disowned him ever since the brat plucked out his majestic hair. Not to mention naming the ship Primrose and using a bib to cover the mermaid's bosom.
Seriously, that had been an eyesore.
