When Evan heard this, he stopped immediately.
"What do you want to talk about?"
"If you want to learn my Psychic abilities, I don't think I have anything to teach you," he said bluntly. "After all, my Psychic powers are unstable."
Evan straightforwardly explained his situation.
However, Claire didn't seem interested in discussing that. Instead, she appeared curious about Evan's Psychic outbursts.
"Did your Psychic powers go berserk because they were too strong?" she asked. "What a coincidence; I was the same way as a kid. However, I eventually learned to control them."
She proceeded to share everything that happened during her own Psychic rampages.
Listening to her, Evan grew curious and began discussing it with her. He even stopped working to chat with Claire.
Just as Evan and Claire were deep in conversation, Isla walked out and glanced at Evan talking to the pretty girl. She was speechless.
"Where is the new order you agreed to handle? Are you seriously chatting with girls instead? Unbelievable."
However, when Isla saw Claire, a flash of surprise crossed her eyes. "What a beautiful girl," she thought.
Evan noticed Isla and immediately instructed, "Isla, go prepare the materials for the Fairy Energy Cubes I mentioned yesterday. Take care of it first; I'll handle the rest later."
Isla nodded, refraining from disturbing the two further. Claire's curiosity was piqued.
After Isla left, Claire asked with some confusion, "Is that your girlfriend?"
Evan shook his head. "No, she's the assistant at the breeding house."
After clarifying, Evan continued his discussion about Psychic control with Claire, still intrigued by how others managed their powers.
Upon learning that Evan did not have a girlfriend, Claire's gaze toward him subtly shifted. Evan noticed but chose to ignore it, focusing instead on their conversation about controlling Psychic abilities that might go berserk.
When Violet returned to the breeding house, she was ready to discuss a matter regarding her Pokémon but saw Evan and Claire chatting happily.
"Don't worry," Claire was saying as Violet entered. "It's okay if Psychic powers go berserk; you just need to get used to it over time. It'll be fine."
Hearing this, Violet was speechless.
"Don't listen to this woman's nonsense," Violet interrupted. "When she was a child, her Psychic rampages demolished several villas! If you don't want your breeding house rebuilt from the ground up, I'd suggest you take her advice with a grain of salt."
"Darn it, you're clearly misleading people, okay?" Violet snapped.
She was well aware of how strong Evan's Psychic powers were. "If you really follow what this woman says, the entire breeding house will probably be plowed over and need rebuilding from scratch. This is outrageous!"
Even Metagross, known for its incredible strength and resistance, was slightly intimidated by Evan's Psychic energy. The sheer power was undeniable.
"Let Evan get used to it by letting his Psychic powers run wild a few more times? It's ridiculous that you'd even suggest that!" Violet fumed. "Pooh!"
Of course, Evan had no intention of listening to such reckless advice. As Violet finished, Claire rolled her eyes dramatically.
"Cut~!" Claire huffed. "What do you know? You're not Psychic."
"What I said is true—I'm not lying," she added confidently. "Obviously, if you go on a rampage a few more times, you'll be able to control it easily once you get used to the feeling."
"That's exactly how I learned to handle it. Is there something wrong with my approach?" Her tone exuded confidence, as if Violet's concerns didn't matter in the slightest.
Violet curled her lips in disdain. "For someone who talks so much nonsense, I don't believe even a single punctuation mark of what you say is true," she thought.
After being misled by Claire multiple times in the past, Violet had made a solemn vow: never trust a word this woman says.
At this moment, Evan finally spoke up. "Forget it. Your method isn't suitable for me. And let's be honest, your Psychic abilities are too weak."
His words were calm but firm. "We'll talk more later. For now, I'll make you an energy cube."
Without waiting for a response, Evan stood up and began preparing materials. He had no intention of following Claire's advice—he knew better. While it might work for someone with weaker Psychic energy, trying that with his level of power was outright dangerous. The potential devastation wasn't worth the risk.
Rebuilding the breeding house would be trivial compared to the possibility of his Pokémon being gravely injured and needing emergency care. The memory of his own Psychic rampage as a child remained vivid. If not for being in the wilderness at the time, the orphanage he once called home would have been razed, and Evan would never have become its director.
Lost in thought, Evan quietly left the scene.
Violet, meanwhile, glared daggers at Claire. In her frustration, she even forgot the original reason she had come to talk to Evan.
"Violet, why are you staring at me like that?" Claire asked, feigning innocence. "I don't think I lied to you."
Claire touched her chin, a look of curiosity crossing her face.
"When did I lie to Violet again?" she wondered aloud. "I don't remember."
Reflecting on her history, she thought, I've been caught in so many lies, which one is she talking about now?
Violet, hearing her muttering, frowned and spoke firmly, "I'm telling you, you'd better not fool him."
She crossed her arms, her expression stern. "If his Psychic powers go berserk, it'll be a disaster. You're a Psychic too, so you should be able to sense how powerful his abilities are, right?"
Her tone left no room for doubt, her words carrying weight. For once, Claire's playful demeanor faded. After glancing in the direction Evan had gone, she nodded solemnly.
"I know," she admitted. "It's... very scary. To be honest, when I sensed his Psychic power for the first time, I was completely shocked. It's nothing like the Psychic energy of a normal human being."
"Tsk..." Claire clicked her tongue, her expression growing complicated. She had always thought her own Psychic powers were strong, but compared to Evan's? It was a humbling realization.
Violet nodded in agreement. "Thank goodness he doesn't casually use his Psychic powers. Otherwise, there'd be a real risk of him losing control."
She shuddered at the thought. "If Evan truly went berserk, even a Champion might struggle to stop him. It would be terrifying."
Claire understood this as well. "That's the real luck here," she mused. "Evan doesn't seem like the type to use his abilities recklessly."
"Yeah," Violet added, her expression serious. "A rampaging Psychic is far scarier than a rampaging Pokémon, especially someone like Evan. His powers are beyond anything I've seen—even more terrifying than Champion-level Pokémon."
Claire suddenly brightened, her eyes sparkling with a mischievous idea. "Tell me, do you think Evan might actually be a Pokémon in disguise?"
Violet looked at her in disbelief, but Claire continued enthusiastically. "I heard that Mew can transform into different shapes, just like Ditto. What if Evan is really a transformed Pokémon?"
Her grin widened. "Should we try throwing a Poké Ball at him? If he's a Pokémon, we could catch him!"
She clapped her hands together, her enthusiasm bubbling over as if she'd stumbled upon the most brilliant idea.
Violet sighed deeply, giving Claire a sharp glare. "Why don't you try putting yourself in a Poké Ball first?"
Claire blinked innocently. "Didn't you already try that?"
