"Boom! Boom!"
A blinding light burst forth.
The thunderous explosions reverberated through the forest, shaking the ground.
Even in the distant towns, people who had already returned home to rest were abruptly awakened, staring in horror toward the forest where a small mushroom cloud rose, flames lighting up the night sky.
"Ah."
Tsunade had arrived at the scene.
Looking around at the devastated, charred earth before her, she couldn't help but feel a tinge of disappointment. "Escaped already, huh?"
Sensing the Six-Tails' Jinchuriki slipping away into the distance, she frowned but decided not to pursue.
"Ugh... ugh..."
Mei looked somewhat disheveled but was unharmed. The Mist shinobis, including Ao, also looked a bit worn out but were otherwise fine.
However, each one wore an expression of heightened vigilance, standing as though facing a formidable enemy, their wary eyes fixed on Tsunade, Shizune, and the others who had just arrived.
"Tsk... Mei-sama, looks like he escaped." Ao's face turned grim as he sensed the Six-Tails' Jinchuriki's chakra fading into the distance, unlikely to be caught again.
He grit his teeth, reminding Mei of their target.
But as he stared at Tsunade, whose very presence exerted immense pressure on him, Ao couldn't help but swallow nervously, his gaze flickering with uncertainty toward the young man at her side.
In his perception—and even through his Byakugan's view—there were only three people who had arrived, yet here stood four.
Moreover, his Byakugan, a prized ability he always held in high regard, had completely failed to discern the youth's presence from the moment they arrived. It was hard to believe.
What exactly was going on?
"Are you…one of the Sannin, Lady Tsunade of Konoha?" Mei narrowed her eyes, her face tinged with annoyance.
She stared down Tsunade with hostility. "Why interfere with our mission to apprehend a rogue ninja from our village?"
"Don't jump to conclusions, I wasn't interfering."
Tsunade crossed her arms, casting a disdainful glance at the grim-looking Mist shinobis.
Her expression was calm and unbothered, her gaze lingering on Mei, whose beauty rivaled her own.
She scoffed, "It's your own incompetence that let the Six-Tails Jinchuriki escape."
Her overwhelming aura weighed heavily on Ao and the other Mist shinobis, cold sweat running down their faces.
Facing her directly, they found that she was perhaps even more formidable than the stories told.
"...."
Kiyoshi raised an eyebrow.
So, because the Six-Tails' Jinchuriki escaped, they'd now turned their sights on them?
"In that case, Tsunade-sama," Mei's expression stiffened as she clenched her fists, glaring at Tsunade with determination.
"Why are you here in the middle of the night, and with companions no less?"
"This isn't the Land of Mist, I go where I please," Tsunade replied with a sneer, her tone unyielding.
Since Konoha's founding decades ago, the nations suppressed under Hashirama's power, had begun to act restlessly after his death, leading to friction with Konoha that ultimately erupted into widespread wars.
These nations, always coveting the Land of Fire's prosperity and resources, initiated one devastating Shinobi War after another.
As a Konoha ninja, Tsunade held deep-seated grudges against the other four great villages.
Especially towards Kirigakure and its infamous "Bloody Mist" policy of brutality and cruelty, which left an instinctive repulsion in her heart.
"Such arrogance!"
"How dare she talk so low of our village!"
The Mist shinobis gritted their teeth, their killing intent clear as they glared at Tsunade, enraged.
The air grew tense, on the verge of erupting.
"Tsunade-sama."
Shizune and Karin arrived by Tsunade's side, drawing their kunai and readying themselves.
Kiyoshi, meanwhile, leaned casually against a tree with his arms crossed, looking as relaxed as Tsunade.
His eyes wandered over Mei, who was still clenching her fists in frustration, and his gaze briefly met Ao's suspicious one, causing the corners of his mouth to turn up slightly.
At that moment—
Far off in the distance.
Utakata, panting heavily and running frantically away, suddenly felt his body stiffen.
His right arm was a bloody mess, bandaged hastily.
As he looked up, a figure appeared in front of him, and his eyes contracted in shock.
"The Six-Tails Jinchuriki..."
A small figure rose slowly from the ground, blocking his path.
"Who are you, and why are you standing in my way?" Utakata asked warily, his tone deep.
He was certain this person wasn't part of the Mist shinobis.
"Let me see the power of the Six-Tails." Kiyoshi, appearing seemingly out of nowhere, said with a smile.
But before Utakata could respond, in the next instant—
Kiyoshi moved like lightning, flashing to Utakata's front in a heartbeat.
"What…?" Utakata, barely processing the situation, tried to leap back and put distance between them, his eyes widening in horror.
In front of him, Kiyoshi's Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan gleamed, the red eyes spinning ominously.
"That's… the Sharingan of the Uchiha Clan?" Utakata gasped, instinctively retreating as he felt himself being pulled into the depths of those haunting eyes.
In an instant.
The intricate Mangekyo pattern expanded before him, drawing him in.
Everything went dark.
"Raaaargh—"
At that moment, deep in the forest, a giant monster emerged.
Several massive tails lashed out wildly.
"Boom! Boom!"
Smoke billowed out.
The ground shook, and the forest erupted with noise.
Rocks and trees flew everywhere.
The enormous creature's rampage left a path of destruction, heading straight toward Mei, Tsunade, and the others.
The terrifying chakra, wild and relentless, made Tsunade, Karin, Shizune, Ao, and the other Mist shinobis tense, their eyes narrowing as they looked toward it.
"That chakra."
"This is bad… the Six-Tails is on a rampage."
Ao, focused on Tsunade and her companions, hadn't seen the earlier events unfold.
Sensing the enormous and raging chakra from afar, Ao's face turned pale with horror.
"What…?"
Moments later—
Everyone's gaze contracted as they spotted, illuminated by the moonlight, the silhouette of an enormous beast crashing wildly in their direction.
