"Boom! Boom!"
Under the night sky, the Six-Tailed Beast was raging uncontrollably.
Its enormous, milky-white body pressed forward with unstoppable force, crushing swathes of trees as it moved. A corrosive slime seeped from its skin, dissolving the earth beneath it.
"Watch out. This gas is highly acidic—don't let it touch you."
Mei's face paled, issuing a swift warning.
Without hesitation, she and the alert Mist shinobis, led by Ao, quickly leapt backward to avoid the advancing acid vapor.
"Swish.. swish..."
Tsunade, Kiyoshi, Shizune, and Karin also retreated in sync, narrowly avoiding the attack.
"Sizzle…."
The white, acidic gas ate away at the trees within a vast radius. A once lush forest, dense with towering trees, was now barren and stripped bare, leaving only charred, skeletal remains.
"This is the power of a Tailed Beast?"
Karin shivered as she surveyed the wasteland. "One breath alone is more terrifying than Lady Katsuyu's acid."
"Tsunade-sama, are you really not going to step in?" Shizune turned anxiously to Tsunade.
Shizune knew well that Tsunade had been eager to test her Wood Style against a Tailed Beast.
With the Six-Tails now in front of them, would she let the opportunity slip?
"Do you think they alone can handle the rampaging Six-Tails?" Tsunade's tone was calm, her gaze fixed on the thrashing beast in the distance.
"Not easily." Kiyoshi said with a relaxed expression, glancing at the Mist shinobis led by Mei.
"That Mist shinobis leader, the one they call 'Lady Mei,' is Mei Terumi.
She's quite powerful and possesses two rare Kekkei Genkai—Boil Release and Lava Release. Rumor has it she's a top candidate for the next Mizukage."
"However, Boil Release isn't very effective in open areas, especially against a giant like this," he continued.
"As for her Lava Release, it's somewhat similar to the Six-Tails' own acidic abilities. Though it might affect the Six-Tails, it won't be as impactful as she'd hope.
And in terms of raw chakra reserves, she's at a disadvantage against a Tailed Beast."
"Mei Terumi?"
"She has two Kekkei Genkai?"
Both Karin and Shizune exchanged looks of surprise. Even Tsunade looked intrigued, surprised at Kiyoshi's knowledge of the Mist's intel. A person with two Kekkei Genkai was indeed rare.
Tsunade gave Kiyoshi a sidelong look. She suspected that the Six-Tails' rampage wasn't a coincidence and had Kiyoshi's fingerprints all over it.
"Alright, let's wrap this up quickly. I'll lead the attack, everyone else, provide support." Mei ordered, forming hand seals swiftly. She exhaled, summoning a massive jet of water.
"Water Style: Water Dragon Jutsu."
"Lightning Style: False Darkness."
Several Mist shinobis, skilled in Lightning Style, channeled their chakra to enhance the water dragon with an electric current.
"Zzzap… crackle…."
The massive water dragon crackled with fierce electricity as it spiraled toward the Six-Tails, crashing into the beast with tremendous force.
The sheer size of the Six-Tails staggered back but remained unscathed.
Unlike ordinary slugs, this Tailed Beast had two stout arms and legs, standing upright with six powerful tails flailing wildly.
"Lava Style: Lava Monster Jutsu."
Mei's hands moved rapidly, releasing an acidic wave.
The Six-Tails, undeterred, retaliated with its own acidic spray.
"Boom! Boom!"
The two acidic attacks collided, neutralizing each other.
"What?."
Ao was stunned. "Lady Mei's Lava Release…. was neutralized."
The Mist shinobis couldn't believe it either.
"This…. is the true power of the Six-Tails?" Mei's heart sank as her powerful Lava Release was effortlessly countered by the Tailed Beast.
Her usually composed face turned serious, realizing the full extent of her opponent's strength.
"Wait…. what's that."
Ao's Byakugan veins bulged as he observed the Six-Tails intently, noticing something strange.
His expression shifted, and he hurried to Mei's side, his voice urgent. "Lady Mei, the Six-Tails' chakra seems unusual. It's like…. like it's under a Genjutsu, just like the Fourth Mizukage."
"What? Controlled?"
Mei's face darkened. A Genjutsu capable of manipulating a Tailed Beast could only mean one thing—Uchiha's Sharingan.
Just moments before, she had been exchanging intel on Uchiha Madara with Tsunade. To her dismay, she realized the Six-Tails had been ensnared by the Sharingan as well.
"Mist girl... need a hand?"
From afar, Tsunade observed with a lighthearted smile.
"Hmph, there's no need for you to trouble yourself, Tsunade-sama. Don't underestimate Kirigakure's shinobis." Mei gritted her teeth, unwilling to yield.
"Whoosh… Whoosh..."
The Six-Tails lashed out in fury, hurling acidic blasts toward Mei and the surrounding Mist shinobis.
"Water Style: Water Wall."
Mei moved quickly, forming a wall of water to shield herself and her comrades from the barrage.
"Boom! Boom!"
"Sizzle… sizzle…."
But before Mei and her team could catch their breath, everyone's faces paled with shock as the Six-Tails opened its jaws.
"Swish…."
Dark blue and black chakra began to coalesce, forming an ominously large chakra sphere—a Tailed Beast Bomb that dwarfed the half-formed ones they had seen before.
"Damn it... a Tailed Beast Bomb?"
"There's no stopping it in time."
"Everyone, move."
