Chapter 13 - Just Weak

The sky was clear and the evening sun rays scattered outside. People were busy walking left and right, buying and selling. Rylan observed all these from the window in the restaurant.

Opposite him, Wade was looking at him. Unlike his usual self, he was not smiling. His lips were pursed as he carefully analyzed the person opposite him.

Rylan could be described in one word, innocence. But the reason he was described this way was his eyes. How did he manage to do it? A lot of people had innocent eyes and even innocent faces but it didn't make everyone sure they were innocent. It was not a lynx skill too.

"How do you do it?" He decided to ask. The pair of innocent eyes turned to look at him. There was slight confusion. "How do you make your eyes influence people so much? How do you make them so innocent?"

Rylan seemed to be shocked. He hadn't expected such a question. "I don't know," he shrugged. He was not lying. He just knew that he had taught himself to control his emotions through his eyes for as long as he could remember. Soon, he was able to influence and fool people easily. He didn't think anyone could do it, but maybe they could hence he didn't know.

"Really?" Wade took a bite of his food. He didn't believe it but it wasn't important. The food on Rylan's lips was awfully disturbing him so he leaned to wipe them away. However, the person moved away.

"What are you doing?" Rylan asked annoyed.

Wade felt his smile coming back, "I was just wiping your lips. Is it bad?"

"You can't just touch me like that."

"Why?" Wade pretended to be oblivious.

"Just don't," eyes narrowed, Rylan really wanted to break Wade's hands. Couldn't he just last one moment without being annoying. For a second, he actually thought they were speaking normally.

"Okay, next time I will lick it off, what do you think?"

"Sure, if you want to die."

"You'll kill me?"

Rylan sighed, tired of the word plays, "Why are we even here?"

Wade didn't answer, instead, he switched to another topic, "Rylan, if you found out someone has been fooling you, what would you do?"

Rylan paused and carefully looked at the alpha. What did he mean? "Why are you asking? Did someone fool you?"

"Uh huh," Wade nodded, his smile at that time held pain.

"I would cut ties," Rylan spoke, "I hate liars."

"Oh really?" Wade seemed to be amused. A lot of things made him believe Rylan was really an omega. But all these confirmations were what scared him. They made him feel safe but if they were not true it would make him feel worse than he could have. "But what if the person fooled me for an important reason?"

"If the person is a close friend he should have told you."

"You're right. I guess you tell your close friends everything too."

Rylan paused. His close friends were only two and they knew almost nothing about him. They only knew a few basic things. But it was because they are human, if he told them the whole truth they would just run away, right? He was only lying for an important reason. Then he remembered what he had just said.

"Hey," Wade waved a hand in front of his face. "Don't think much about it, I was just saying."

"We're done eating, we should leave now. Thanks for the meal," Rylan quickly stood up to leave before Wade paid the bill.

Wade didn't make an effort to follow, he was rubbing his temples. He was confused yet again.

"I don't want to do this anymore. Whether he's an omega or not I need something to prove he's an omega. But what?" He sighed. At this rate he was afraid he would die of stress and exhaustion.

...

Julian had his head lowered and teeth clenched. His eyes were tightly shut in an attempt to block his rage, but anyone could sense it a mile away, including his father.

Tyler opened the door and walked in. Seeing his son kneeling in front of his throne with his head lowered, he didn't seem surprised or worried. He calmly walked to sit on his throne.

"I made it clear to you that curfew is at 8pm," the alpha spoke.

"I'm sorry father, I'm sorry for being one minute late," Julian did not seem remorseful. His anger was still very visible. Tyler, seeing this, released his alpha aura, forcing fear into his son.

It worked, Julian trembled. He forced every pore on his body not to shed a tear. He could not cry in front of his father, never.

"Don't you ever learn? You are an omega, weak is what you stand for and there is no way you can compete with me."

"..."

"I'm going to punish you, both for being late and for your careless tongue and attitude. Understood?"

"..."

"I asked a question!" Tyler released more of his aura. It was already really impressive that Julian was not on the ground dying. This did not impress the pack leader.

"Yes alpha, I understand," Julian forced the words out of his mouth. He didn't know how much longer he could last, but if he had to die, he would die resisting the aura with all his might.

"Leave," Tyler spoke and retracted his aura. Julian slowly stood. He couldn't feel his legs but he still forced himself to move, not to look like a weakling.

When he finally got to his room, he fell on the floor as tears fell. His whole body was in so much pain and his head felt like it had just been cut to pieces.

His father was right, he really could not be as strong as an alpha. He was just making a fool out of himself.

With these thoughts, he hugged his knees and buried hi head between them, crying. If anyone saw him at that moment, they would be shocked to see how weak he looked. Like a strong tree cut down by strong wind, just weak.

In his next life, he wanted to be an alpha and in this life, he would never forgive his father. Even if the old alpha begged for years he wouldn't give a damn. He could go to hell for all he cared.
