Wade stood outside Julian's room. He could hear his brother crying but he couldn't go in. He would only make things worse. He clenched and unclenched his fists, feeling anger run through his veins.
Not at his father, but himself. What kind of brother was he? He was too scared to go against his father, so he just stood back and watched his brother suffer. Why? Why wasn't he brave enough?
He clenched his fists so hard the his palms turned red. But even then, it was not enough to make him do something. He could only feel angry, just that.
He went back to his own room and took his phone to text someone.
[Rylan?]
[What's wrong with you? Why are you tyiping my name?] The reply was fast, as if he was waiting for the text.
[I miss you.]
[Sure you do. I don't have time for this, I'm busy.]
[Wait,]
[What?]
[What would you do if your father was bad to your brother?]
[Why are you asking me? I don't have a brother nor a father.]
[...]
[Hey, why are you not responding? I really don't know what to do.]
[Mmh, it's okay. Goodnight then.]
[Are you okay?]
[Why wouldn't I be? I'm just sleepy so I asked some random questions. I'll just sleep, night, make sure you dream of me love.]
[Goodnight.]
Rylan looked at his goodnight and sighed. He wanted to scold the other for calling him love but he could sense his mood. 'Does the Pack leader hate his second son?' He thought. This was his thought as he fell asleep.
....
A whole week passed with no sight of Wade. He only texted but never appeared, which for some reason did not sit well with Rylan.
That day, he sat in his office working. His glasses sat loosely on the bridge of his nose as his fingers flew across the keyboard.
Elliott could smell his bad mood for some reason and it was uncomfortable. "You know, it's not really good to work on a bad mood."
"I'm fine," Rylan lied. His phone suddenly rang and he quickly picked it up hoping it was a certain someone. He was disappointed to hear his aunt instead. He sighed and listened to his aunt.
"Rylan, why the hell is the alpha prince outside my house?"
"He is?" Rylan used a bored voice but when he clearly heard the words, his voice changed, "Wait, what?!"
"You heard me, he's been out there for who knows how long. I don't think you should come home right now, what if..." Jasmine stopped when she realized Rylan hung up. "Did his phone battery die?" She wondered out loud, good thing she warned him not to come home.
However, her joy was short-lived because a while later, she saw Rylan's car! Was he worried about her that much? But the lynx did not get into the house, instead he went to Wade.
Jasmine wanted to get a closer look but before she could, they drove off in Wade's car! What the hell was wrong with her nephew?
Wade and Rylan did not go to True bar this time. They needed somewhere quiet. They packed in the middle of nowhere and got out of the car.
"What were you doing outside my aunt's house?!" Rylan immediately asked rubbing his forehead.
"I wanted to see you."
"You really are something. You can see me anytime you want huh? "
"It's not like that, I... "
"Don't give me your excuses. Do you realize how annoying you are. You wake up and decide how the world should run. Seriously, why did you come into my life?"
"Rylan, listen. I'm sorry, I just... I wasn't thinking. "
"Fuck off!" Rylan pushed the alpha out of the way and started walking away. Wade ran after him.
"Where are you going? We are not close to anywhere," Wade spoke, as held Rylan's hand.
"Let go!" Rylan took his hand back and continued walking. When the alpha still followed, he spoke, "If you follow me, I promise you won't ever see me again."
These words stopped the alpha. "I'm sorry! " He shouted at the disappearing figure.
Rylan didn't stop and only walked. He walked for hours, until he couldn't anymore and sat on the ground. The sun above his head did not help in anyway. He looked behind and realized Wade really did not follow him.
With a sigh he took out his phone. Luck was not on his side because his phone was dead. "Just great!" He cursed under his breath.
He sat for a while and decided to go back, since it was the shortest distance. He just hoped Wade was still there, if not then he would make sure that alpha would suffer!
Going back was even more exhausting. Fortunately, Wade was still there, seated on top of his car. Who knew why he wasn't affected by the scorching sun?
"You're back?" Wade spoke and jumped off. He seemed to have known Rylan would come back. The said Rylan did not have the strength to argue or say anything, he just dragged his tired self inside the car silently.
Wade didn't mind, he got into the car too and started driving.
"I didn't know coming to your house would anger you that much," Wade said, "I'm sorry."
Rylan didn't speak. Actually, he wasn't that much angry about the alpha coming to his house. What angered him....
"I also understand that it's not good to come and go as I wish and forcefully too," the alpha spoke again.
"... "
"What should I do for you to forgive me? "
"... "
"I'm sorry. "
"... "
"Rylan? Are you never going to speak again?"
"... "
Wade looked at the person next to him, he was asleep. He stopped the car, if he arrived at Rylan's place he would have to wake him up. He wanted the latter to sleep for a while.
Again, he looked at the lynx. When Rylan had his eyes closed, his innocent aura got lost too. He looked more real.
"I'm going to prove them wrong. Whether you're an omega or not, I'll prove you are, " He whispered and laid back on his seat.
During the week of his absence, he had been looking for evidence to prove Ryan's innocence. He didn't find anything though.
He sighed, he was really tired.
