The next day, James Brown arrived at the company and the office phone wouldn't stop ringing, all from people who had seen the job advertisement on TV and were calling to apply.
James could only answer each call one by one. He originally thought that as an HR manager who wasn't involved in operational tasks, he would have the most leisurely job in the company. Now he realized that not only was the job not leisurely, but it was also quite busy. He was so busy that the phone hadn't left his ear all morning.
Looking at the time, it was already eleven-thirty. James pulled the phone cord out. Now, even if someone called, he didn't want to answer it. He was truly exhausted.
At that moment, his cell phone started ringing. James frowned but still answered the call when he saw it was from Gina Lopez.
"Why can't I get through to your office phone?" Gina asked.
"Big sis, my phone has been like a hotline all morning; it never stopped ringing. It's a miracle you got through."
