When John Brown returned home, the living room lights were on, and there was the sound of water from the bathroom, indicating someone was showering.
The only other person who had a key to his place was Emma Campbell, and of course, Lucy Campbell could also come in, but Lucy wouldn't take a shower at her place, so it was obviously Emma.
After changing shoes, James Brown went over and knocked on the bathroom door, saying, "I'm back."
