Qian Liben's brows furrowed immediately. He had already given Helen Wilson enough respect by not pursuing the matter of her hitting James Robinson, but Helen Wilson still seemed oblivious to what was appropriate. His face darkened abruptly and he said, "Helen Wilson, you need to know when to advance and when to retreat. This is our QP Substation, it's not your turn to be directing things here at our station."
Helen Wilson knew that Qian Liben was angry. She calmed herself down a bit and said, "Deputy Bureau Chief Smith, I may not have the authority to direct things here, but as a police officer, I cannot stand by and watch my colleague engage in torture during interrogation. That's a violation of the law. For the reputation of our police force, and how the police are seen by the people, I had to step in."
Qian Liben said gravely, "This matter will be handled by the leadership of our Substation."
