Charlotte took a deep breath and raised her fists to cheer herself on.
The kindergarten had bright and spacious classrooms as well as gentle teachers, just as Flora had imagined.
She could not stop smiling.
During recess, her classmates suddenly surrounded her and picked on her.
"The new student is so dark. I've never seen such a dark-skinned kid."
"Yeah. Why is her skin so dark?"
"Hey, you're Flora? Your skin is so dark you look like coal. Are your parents coalminers?"
Flora lowered her head in shame, feeling at a loss.
