Charlotte went downstairs, but Lydia was nowhere to be seen. She then decided that it would be better to talk to Lydia some other time when the children were at school. Thus, she made her way to the kindergarten to pick up the children.
Lydia, on the other hand, was wailing in her car.
Joe panicked when he saw Lydia's state. He wanted to help but had no idea what to do. Despite having a question on his mind, he knew it was not the time to ask yet.
When he noticed that Lydia was much calmer, he said, "Madam, I think there is something dodgy going on. Did you notice that this is an impoverished neighborhood? Moreover, Ms. Johnson does not look like an elite. Why would Mr. Stevens ask someone like her for a favor? It does not seem like his style."
