Just as I thought I could push the grief aside and have some peace and quiet, the door to my suite swung open and Elder Gita walked in as if the room was hers.
I stared at her, my eyes unmoving. Kaene who had been in the process of unbuttoning his bloodied shirt stopped.
"I would not interrupt unless it was important." She announced, her expression grim like she would rather be anywhere else but here.
I had a bad feeling about what she wanted to talk about.
"What is it?" Kaene asked, his face etched in confusion.
Elder Gita's gaze met mine, and something in her eyes told me I wouldn't like what she had to say.
What could possibly scare me in her words? She had promised earlier to tell us how she appeared back in the pack.
What was so urgent that she couldn't wait and didn't even congratulate us for the battle we had just won.
