In the ancient times, the demons of the underworld managed to breach the humans' defensive walls and invade the mortal world. The demons quickly crawled out of the underworld's hole and swarmed the lands, killing and burning anything in their way.
The armies of the humans were taken by surprise and it took over a year for them to reorganize and come for a counter attack. By that time they'd already expected to find the borders fully massacred, and that was the case, except one region.
In the middle of the border, the demon's army seems to have stopped advancing right after burning the first village in its path. Some scouts were sent to investigate the area for an ambush, and none of them returned.
The area became a restricted zone until the forces of the upper heavens came to investigate it. Shin and Hen were among those forces, and it was then that they found her and learned of what had really happened in the village.
