Chapter 25 - chapter 25

Avery walked through the streets looking at the various merchants trying to sell off their goods. She picked up a few pieces of jewelry that had caught her eye earlier. She then moved on to the makeup section. Years of being friends with Irisa had the benefit of having good fashion sense. Though this effect was not apparent on Caster who preferred armours dispite having natural armour on his body.

Avery browsed through the lipstick collection, having already selected a few eyeliners which she uses the most of. She picked up a shade that she thought would suit her and looked in the mirror to try it. She spotted Caster in the reflection. He was looking at the lipstick collection cluelessly.

" Hey Caster!" Avery greeted," what are you looking for?"

Caster looked up, his eyes lit up upon seeing a familiar face.

" Oh thank Ymarah," Caster sighed in relief," Avery do you think this would look good on Irisa?"

Caster held up a neon green lipstick which smelled awful and probably tasted even worse. It radiated chemicals and plastic.

" That's probably the worst thing to get her." Avery sighed." Come on I'll pick out something for you."

The merchant who was helping Caster looked relieved.

" I need to see your all natural lipsticks in the shades sunset, obsidian rose and natural spring." Avery told the merchant.

The merchant scrambled to get the requested shades.

Eventually she chose a light pink lipstick made from ground up wild flowers spread in a thick layer over a clay plate. Caster looked at the item questioningly but still purchased it. Avery bought the same in a deeper red shade.

She then bid farewell to Caster and made her way to the merchant that sold Agatha the magic bracelet.

" Welcome back, what can I do for you?" The merchant said.

" You can show me your premium goods." Avery replied.

" Oh what's this!" The merchant spoke," the guard known for adhering to the rules purchasing something illegal."

"Start walking." Avery replied pulling out some coins.

The merchant called his friend to watch his goods and led Avery away. They made their way through several alleys and finally entered a small worn-out door.

The place was filled to the brim with goods both legal and illegal.

Avery quickly refilled her stockpile of mischief powder and was just about to leave when a small dagger caught her eye.

It had a simple design with a compass engraving on the pommel of the dagger. Avery picked it up the engraving moved.

" That dagger doubles as an accurate compass. Very useful for travellers." The young boy said.

" How much?" Avery questioned.

" Just 800 tubas for that." The merchant replied.

Avery found the price reasonable but still negotiated it down to 500 tubas.

Avery looked at her coin purse as she left the illegal goods store having gotten the name of the young boy who dealt in those kinds of goods.

58000 tubas.

She made her way to the main street when she came across Agatha who was frantically searching for something.
