It was a lazy Sunday afternoon, and Akane was relaxing in her room, completely engrossed in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. The anime's dramatic scenes and over-the-top battles had her captivated, and she couldn't help but mimic some of the intense gestures of the characters.
"ORA! ORA! ORA!" she yelled at the screen, imitating her favorite JoJo character's battle cry.
Just then, the doorbell rang, snapping her out of her anime trance. She paused the episode, slightly annoyed at the interruption, and made her way to the front door. When she opened it, she was surprised to see Zenkichi standing there, holding her notebook in his hand.
"Oh! Zenkichi? What are you doing here?"
Zenkichi held up the notebook. "You left this at school, and I figured you might need it. You know, with exams coming up."
Akane blinked, pleasantly surprised. "Oh, thanks! That's actually really thoughtful of you."
He glanced over her shoulder and noticed her paused TV screen, where JoJo's Bizarre Adventure was displayed. He raised an eyebrow, smirking. "Wait… are you watching JoJo's Bizarre Adventure?"
Akane's face flushed slightly. "Yeah, I am! You've seen it?"
Zenkichi leaned against the doorframe, crossing his arms. "Seen it? I practically live by it! You could say I'm a stand user myself," he said, striking a pose like one of the characters.
Akane laughed and struck a pose of her own, mimicking another JoJo character. "Oh? So, I guess that makes me a stand user too. Don't mess with me, Zenkichi. I have my own stand!"
They both dissolved into laughter, trading JoJo references and mimicking various poses from the show. It was rare for Akane to meet someone else who shared her enthusiasm for the anime, and it felt surprisingly fun to bond over it with Zenkichi.
As they caught their breath from laughing, Akane suddenly had an idea. "Hey, since you're here… how about a study session? Finals are coming up, and I could use some company. Plus, if you're serious about helping, we could cover a lot together."
Zenkichi hesitated for a moment but then shrugged. "Sure, why not? If we mix in some JoJo references, maybe it'll be a bit less painful."
Akane laughed and stepped aside, letting him in. "Perfect. I'll just text Ayumi and see if she wants to join us. The more, the merrier."
She sent a quick message to Ayumi, and within minutes, her friend texted back, excited to join. As they waited, Akane and Zenkichi spread their textbooks and notes across the living room table, transforming her cozy space into a study zone.
When Ayumi arrived, she was pleasantly surprised to find Zenkichi there. The three of them settled in, diving into their notes, quizzing each other, and occasionally slipping into JoJo references to keep things entertaining. Whenever someone got an answer right, they'd strike a JoJo pose in celebration, much to Ayumi's amused confusion.
By the end of the afternoon, they'd covered several subjects and even managed to make studying feel like a bizarre adventure of its own. When they finally wrapped up, Akane looked around at her friends, grateful for the unexpected study session.
"Thanks for coming over, you two," she said, smiling. "Today was… surprisingly fun."
Zenkichi smirked. "See? Studying doesn't have to be so dull. Especially not with a few stand users around."
As they packed up their books and notes, Zenkichi turned to Akane. "Next time, we're definitely watching JoJo together. Consider it a promise."
Akane grinned, giving him a thumbs-up. "Deal. And maybe next time, we'll even summon our stands to ace the finals!"
They all laughed, and as Zenkichi and Ayumi headed out, Akane felt a sense of warmth. She hadn't just studied today; she'd shared a moment with friends that would stick with her for a long time.
