Chapter 137 - Chapter 137

The etiquette of Mondstadt felt oddly familiar—almost like the customs of certain nations from his previous life.

Open, passionate, uninhibited!

The developers of Genshin Impact must have taken inspiration from real-world cultures when designing these nations.

Take Liyue, for example—it gave Nathan a strong sense of déjà vu, as if he had returned to the country of his past life.

The people of Liyue were more reserved and subtle in their emotions, so when faced with such open enthusiasm, Nathan often felt overwhelmed.

"It's fine. From now on, I'll only act like this towards you!"

Rosalyne, upon hearing his muttered complaint, seemed to misunderstand the meaning entirely.

That kind of infatuated tone and expression—Nathan couldn't help but feel like he was dealing with Ningguang and the other girls again.

He shuddered. No way. He absolutely couldn't let this pure-hearted girl turn into another Ningguang.

To avoid that, he quickly changed the topic.

"Alright, it's really cold at night. Rosalyne, your clothes are completely soaked through. You should take a hot bath before you catch a cold!"

This flower shop had a spacious layout—downstairs was the storefront where fresh flowers were displayed, while the second floor served as a living space.

"You're right, Nathan. I do feel uncomfortable being all sticky like this," Rosalyne admitted, brushing aside her damp bangs.

Her pure white dress was drenched, and faint traces of other colors peeked through from underneath.

After a moment of hesitation, she seemed troubled.

"But… I don't think I have any spare clothes to change into."

"Ah, this..."

Nathan froze, then quickly realized the problem.

Rosalyne's dress was completely soaked, and even after bathing, she wouldn't be able to put it back on.

Without a change of clothes… was she supposed to go around naked?

"Sorry, I didn't think this through!"

"Don't apologize! I'm the one causing you trouble, Nathan!"

Her voice carried a hint of panic, making it impossible not to feel sympathy for her.

"How about this—I still have some of my mother's old clothes at home. They might be a bit small for you, though."

Nathan recalled the setting of his simulated life and figured he should be able to find some women's clothing in his room.

But there was one issue—Rosalyne's figure was simply too… developed.

Ordinary clothes, especially with those at her back, might not be able to contain her.

"No need to go through so much trouble… Just give me something of yours to wear!"

"Huh???"

Nathan was dumbfounded.

How was wearing his old clothes any less trouble?!

---

Night had deepened. By the time Rosalyne finished her bath, it was already past midnight.

Nathan had removed his black robe and cape, changing into more casual Mondstadt-style attire.

Rosalyne emerged from the bathroom, now wearing the formal male attire he had given her.

Well, since this was just an identity assigned by the simulation system, all these clothes were technically as good as new anyway.

"I'm done..."

Her soft voice made Nathan's eyes light up.

Since it was men's formal wear, it was already designed to be somewhat fitted.

But with Rosalyne's… assets… the fabric was being stretched to its absolute limit.

His gaze was instantly drawn there.

A feast for the eyes.

Not only was Rosalyne ready—Nathan himself felt very ready.

"Isn't this… a bit too tight?"

Nathan forced himself to look away and asked awkwardly.

"Pfft— I think it's just right! Nathan's clothes fit me perfectly!"

She giggled and spun around in place, her pale, delicate feet lightly stepping on the floor.

That turn… That turn!

It only made the mesmerizing view behind her more prominent.

Those perfectly round… peaches… bounced freely in his field of vision.

If he could, he would take a bite—definitely juicy.

"Nathan… Nathan..."

Her soft voice snapped him out of his daze.

By the time he came back to his senses, Rosalyne was already standing close beside him, her face slightly flushed.

"Oh, um… sorry, Rosalyne, I was just lost in thought."

Nathan shook his head. No way could he admit that his mind had been completely occupied with… peaches.

"You must be really exhausted, huh?"

"Yeah, it's getting late. I'll take you to the guest room to rest."

Rosalyne looked at him with concern, and Nathan quickly seized the chance to change the subject.

He led her into the guest room.

The room was clean and furnished with everyday essentials. The large bed was more than enough for two people.

"This is the place. You've had a long night—get some rest."

After saying that, Nathan turned to leave.

But before he could take a step, Rosalyne grabbed his wrist.

"Nathan… don't go."

She had felt comforted by his presence, but the moment he mentioned leaving, a wave of fear crashed over her.

"If I stay here, you won't be able to sleep, will you?"

Nathan smiled helplessly.

Back in Mondstadt's plaza, he had already noticed that Rosalyne was becoming dependent on him.

But now, judging by her trembling voice, that dependency was even deeper than he had thought.

"My parents… are gone. When I sleep alone, I get scared."

She pulled him to the bedside, her voice filled with sorrow.

Nathan sighed and sat beside her.

She lay down on the bed, her beautiful figure completely exposed to his view.

"Nathan… promise me, don't leave until I fall asleep, okay?"

She held his hand tightly, afraid he would slip away.

"Uh..."

This was the first time a girl had ever made such a request.

He could only stare at her in silence.

"Then… Rosalyne, why don't you tell me a story about your past?"

They locked eyes. Sitting here in awkward silence wasn't an option, so Nathan figured a conversation might help her doze off.

"Alright… I'll start from when I was little..."

Rosalyne's soft lips parted as she began to tell her story.

Her parents had once been famous scholars in Mondstadt, but they had passed away in an accident, leaving her alone from a young age.

She had always lived a lonely, difficult life. Whenever sorrow overwhelmed her, she would go to Mondstadt's plaza at night and sing at the top of her lungs.

After all those years of solitude, meeting Nathan tonight felt like an end to her suffering.

The more she talked, the more animated she became.

Meanwhile, Nathan—her listener—found his eyelids growing heavier and heavier…

---

Morning came.

The first rays of sunlight bathed Mondstadt in golden light.

Outside the flower shop, a loud knock suddenly echoed through the door.

"Open up! Knights of Favonius—routine inspection!"
