Chapter 138 - Chapter 138

The sun had already risen over Mondstadt.

Nathan was still in a dazed state, caught between dreams and wakefulness.

However, at the moment, he was feeling a little… uncomfortable.

There was a strange sensation, as if he couldn't quite breathe properly.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

The urgent knocking from downstairs finally jolted him awake from his slumber.

"So white!"

The moment he opened his eyes, a field of pure white filled his vision.

Accompanied by a faint, sweet fragrance and the scent of milk, this one look instantly wiped away any remaining drowsiness.

No wonder… No wonder he had been struggling to breathe in his sleep.

It turned out that while he had been dozing off, Rosalyne's very, very large peaks had completely enveloped his face.

Wasn't this… a bit too intense?

First thing in the morning, and he was already in such an intimate situation? His blood surged immediately.

"Gulp!"

Feeling a sudden heat rising in his nose, Nathan hurriedly suppressed his emotions.

This dazzling morning scenery… both above and below… was setting off dangerous alarms in his mind.

"Mmm… Nathan… don't leave…"

The sleeping girl murmured softly, her angelic face still exuding an aura of purity.

But despite that holy appearance, she had wrapped her arms tightly around him, unconsciously increasing the pressure.

"Uhh…?"

The sensation from behind made Nathan instantly freeze.

Talking in her sleep was fine, but did she have to get physical too?!

Rosalyne's sleep habits were really… too good!

—No, wait. They were too bad!

But before he could even start complaining, things escalated even further.

At this early hour, he was subjected to an experience that could only be described as face-washing with milk.

"Pfft!"

Softness pressed against his face, rubbing gently. That uniquely Rosalyne scent seeped through his nose, spreading throughout his body.

His breathing became labored—if this continued, he actually might suffocate!

"It tickles!"

Even in her sleep, Rosalyne mumbled complaints about the sensation of his breath.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

Luckily, just in time, the ever-persistent knocking on the door came to his rescue.

"Open up! Knights of Favonius—routine inspection!"

This time, it wasn't just knocking—there was shouting too.

Perhaps startled by the noise, Rosalyne finally stirred awake in a panic.

"What's happening?"

Her sleepy eyes were still clouded with drowsiness, but when she saw the situation in front of her, she snapped fully awake.

At this moment, Nathan was still held tightly in her embrace, his face buried somewhere dangerously warm.

A rush of heat spread from Rosalyne's earlobes, her cheeks quickly turning a deep shade of red.

No wonder she had felt ticklish in her dream—turns out, in reality, she had been holding Nathan this close the whole time.

In her dream, all she had imagined was holding hands with Nathan…

But in reality, things had gone way beyond that!

"Ro… Rosalyne… can you… let go of me first?"

Since his entire face was buried, it took all of Nathan's effort to get that sentence out.

"Ah—s-sorry, sorry!"

Realizing the situation, Rosalyne quickly loosened her grip in a panic.

"Phew… finally saved!"

Now that he could finally pull his face away, Nathan took a deep breath.

The fresh morning air filled his lungs—though, sadly, it didn't have the same sweetness as Rosalyne's scent.

"I… I'm sorry, Nathan!"

The heat of her embarrassment was so intense that steam seemed to be rising from her forehead.

"It's fine, I don't blame you. Good morning, Rosalyne!"

Nathan shook his head. If anything, he was the one who had benefited greatly from the situation.

"G-Good morning, Nathan!"

Rosalyne greeted back, quickly burying her head in her chest out of shyness.

"Last night was my fault. I was supposed to be telling you my story, but I fell asleep first instead!"

Nathan recalled the events of last night—it seemed that while listening to Rosalyne talk about her past, he had dozed off first.

"It's okay, it's okay! I like being with you, Nathan!"

Rosalyne raised her head in a flustered panic, but the curve of her lips revealed a smile of genuine happiness.

Last night, after seeing Nathan fall asleep, she had been unable to resist a tiny impulse…

Driven by her feelings, she had snuggled into bed with him.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

Unfortunately, the tender atmosphere between them didn't last long before the knocking outside interrupted again.

"I'll go check it out!"

Nathan got up, ready to leave the bed.

"Wait a moment…"

Rosalyne reached out and gently grabbed his wrist.

"What is it?"

"Let me… fix your clothes first."

Her gemstone-like eyes shimmered with joy as she slowly smoothed out the folds in his sleeves.

Like a devoted wife helping her husband get dressed before he left for the day.

Feeling her careful touch, Nathan's heart was warmed by her tenderness.

A girl this pure, kind, and understanding—she was truly the ideal wife.

Whether in terms of personality, or… physicality, she was definitely suited to be a good mother in the future.

"Thank you, Rosalyne."

Hearing Nathan's gratitude, the girl slowly leaned closer from the center of the bed.

"Please… be careful."

A cool sensation brushed against his cheek—

Their morning ended with a good morning kiss…

---

"Open up! Hurry up and open the door! Knights of Favonius—routine inspection!"

As Nathan walked to the door, the urgent knocking continued relentlessly.

"Click—"

Just as one of the knights outside was about to pound on the door again, Nathan abruptly pulled it open—

The knight lost his balance and stumbled forward, falling flat on the ground.

Beyond the doorway stood a squad of Favonius Knights, clad in their signature armor.

Unfortunately, since this was five hundred years in the past, there wasn't a single familiar face among them.

"Do not make any sudden moves! We've received reports that your shop is harboring a suspect responsible for damaging Mondstadt's plaza!"

The knight who had just fallen quickly scrambled back to his feet, drawing his Favonius Longsword and pointing it at Nathan with hostility.

"Ed, mind your manners!"

Before things could escalate further, a firm voice interrupted.

A middle-aged man in his thirties stepped forward from the squad.

"I am Rostam, Vice-Captain of the Knights of Favonius. Apologies for my subordinate's rudeness."

"No worries. My name is Nathan—just an ordinary flower shop owner."
