I will be away for 3 days. Adios!
------***------
About two months had passed since the discovery of the dragon bone. During this time, Fang Chang had been staying with the Sea Spider tribe. The initial fear and unfamiliarity the Sea Spiders had toward him gradually faded, and mutual trust began to grow.
To prevent the dragon bone from being exposed and coveted by other sea soul beasts, Fang Chang used his "Flexible Size" skill to enlarge his body and physically dragged the sunken ship over to cover the entrance of the cave where the dragon bone was hidden.
Afterward, he and the Sea Spider Queen, Little Gold, set up a seal at the cave entrance to prevent the aura of the dragon bone from leaking out and attracting unwanted attention.
With these multiple layers of protection, the existence of the dragon bone was temporarily concealed, and no unexpected incidents occurred during these two months.
Now, the cave beneath the sunken ship had become a habitat and cultivation ground for the weaker members of the Sea Spider tribe.
As for the sunken ship above, only Fang Chang and Little Gold resided there. The dragon bone had little effect on their cultivation speed, and staying in the ship allowed them to better protect their tribe.
At this moment, Fang Chang was using "Telepathy" to communicate with Little Gold, asking her about the nearby sea soul beasts.
After such a long period of idleness, it was time to find a new target.
According to her, there were numerous sea soul beasts, with thousands of different races, large and small. However, most of them were not strong and could only survive by depending on other races.
In this area, there were only five notable sea soul beast races with significant influence, one of which was the Sea Spider tribe.
The Sea Spider tribe was once prosperous, but about two hundred years ago, internal strife caused the tribe to split into two factions. One faction was led by Little Gold, while the other was led by her two younger sisters.
From what she knew, before the war with the Chimera Jellyfish tribe, her faction had always maintained an overwhelming advantage over the other. However, the situation was now uncertain.
The second notable race was their long-time enemy, the Chimera Jellyfish tribe. Thanks to Fang Chang's efforts, they had nearly been wiped out and were no longer a threat.
Aside from them, there were only three other dominant sea soul beast races in this area: the Demon Soul Great White Sharks, the Evil Demon Tiger Whales, and a race called the Vast Sea Lobsters.
The Demon Soul Great White Shark resided near Sea God Island and were under the protection of the Sea God. Their leader had reached the 100,000-year cultivation level, far surpassing the Sea Spider tribe in strength.
The Evil Demon Tiger Whales were their mortal enemies, often appearing in the waters near Sea God Island to prey on the Demon Soul Great White Sharks that ventured outside the island's protection. They were even stronger than the sharks and extremely bloodthirsty.
However, they had little conflict with the Sea Spider tribe. While there were occasional attacks on individual Sea Spiders by the Evil Demon Tiger Whales, there had never been any large-scale confrontations.
Of course, there was also an extremely terrifying presence in these waters—the Deep Sea Demon Whale King, the overlord of the Demon Whale Sea.
However, it was notoriously lazy. As long as one didn't enter its territory, it wouldn't attack, so there was no need to worry too much about it.
After explaining these, Little Gold focused on introducing the Vast Sea Lobster tribe.
According to her, the Vast Sea Lobsters were actually the original inhabitants of this area. Both the Sea Spider tribe and the Chimera Jellyfish tribe were newcomers who had driven them out through long-term competition.
Because of this, the Vast Sea Lobsters harbored deep hatred toward the Sea Spiders and were constantly seeking to reclaim their ancestral land.
Originally, the Sea Spider tribe's strength was enough to fend them off. However, after the internal strife that split the tribe and the subsequent war with the Chimera Jellyfish that left them severely weakened, they were likely no match for the Vast Sea Lobsters.
As the two were discussing this, Fang Chang suddenly sensed a powerful aura rapidly approaching. Shortly after, a sentry Sea Spider rushed into the sunken ship to inform Little Gold.
When the two of them hurriedly emerged from the ship, they saw a large force approaching from the distance.
"That's the Vast Sea Lobster tribe," Little Gold conveyed to Fang Chang through telepathy, her expression showing signs of nervousness.
Seeing the enemy approaching, Little Gold quickly turned back to gather the Sea Spider tribe members from the cave beneath the ship and brought them out to the surface.
The battlefield had to be kept away from the sunken ship, as the dragon bone beneath it could easily be discovered if the fight got too close.
Before the Sea Spider tribe could fully prepare for battle, the Vast Sea Lobster tribe had already surrounded them in a semi-circle.
There were about 150 to 160 of them, nearly double the current size of the Sea Spider tribe.
Leading the group were a male and female lobster king and queen, both significantly larger than the others. The lobster king had a cultivation level of over 94,000 years, while the lobster queen was at 87,000 years, slightly stronger than Fang Chang and Little Gold on the surface.
Behind them were nine subordinates with cultivation levels above 10,000 years. Both in numbers and overall strength, the Vast Sea Lobsters clearly outclassed the Sea Spider tribe by more than a level.
Little Gold grew increasingly nervous as she observed them up close. However, when she glanced at Fang Chang beside her, her anxiety eased somewhat.
After witnessing him devour a 100,000-year soul beast in one bite, no one would ever mistake him for an ordinary 80,000- or 90,000-year soul beast.
The lobster king of the Vast Sea Lobsters stepped forward, positioning itself between the two tribes. Its eyes swept over the weakened Sea Spider tribe before lingering on Fang Chang.
It raised one of its front claws, releasing a powerful aura, and began to bubble out a series of sounds.
Although soul beasts below the 100,000-year level couldn't speak human language, and the two tribes had different languages, their intelligence was high enough for Little Gold to understand the lobster king's message.
Essentially, it was demanding that the Sea Spiders leave the area, as the Vast Sea Lobsters were reclaiming this territory.
In simpler terms, it was telling them to "get lost!"
In the past, Little Gold might have chosen to endure the humiliation and lead her tribe away from this fertile sea to find a new home.
But now, behind them lay the dragon bone, the key to the Sea Spider tribe's future rise. More importantly, she had Fang Chang by her side.
She glanced at Fang Chang's expression and, after receiving his telepathic approval, stepped forward to face the lobster king, driving her spider leg firmly into the ground.
The lobster king quickly understood her message: they would not yield an inch of territory!
With a sweep of its claw, the lobster king signaled its tribe, and the hundred or so Vast Sea Lobsters charged toward the Sea Spider tribe.
The battle was about to begin!
At this moment, Fang Chang wore a look of helplessness. If only the lobster king had been born a few thousand years earlier...
A 90,000-year soul beast was of no use to him now. It was such a waste.
