Chapter 24 - Whispers in the White Void

In the next moment, it felt like my consciousness was sucked from my body. I wasn't standing; I just seemed to exist, suspended in a blinding white void. My body felt foreign, indistinct, as if I was merely a shadow of myself.

"Boy!" The voice tore through my mind again, sharp and urgent. I screamed, but nothing came out—no sound, no echo, just silence.

"Remember! You cannot forget anything I've told you. I need you to remember what I told you before." That familiar voice cried out, echoing in the vast emptiness around me.

"Remember!"

"Remember!"

Each repetition thudded in my mind, creating a cacophony that reverberated through the void. A jolt of fear shot through me as I strained to grasp the fragments of the voice—What was it? Who? What did I need to remember?

"Who are you?" I tried to shout, but my voice was swallowed by the white expanse.

Images flickered like shadows in the corners of my mind—fleeting glimpses of twisted shapes, echoes of dread, and the sound of whispers that sent chills down my spine. I saw flashes of myself?

This is all too abrupt!

What did the voice want? I've dreamt of it before but it was nothing more than a dream, right?

"Your dream starts now, I'm sorry this is far too early, but the abnormalities are far too severe." The voice ranged distortedly.

This place… I've been here before, inside those wings. Why did this thing always seem to be in a hurry?

As I sank deeper, I caught sight of a door—ancient and warped, its edges frayed like the pages of an old book. The surface was covered in strange symbols, etched deeply as if carved by hands desperate to convey a warning or a prophecy. They pulsed with an eerie light, a rhythm that seemed to synchronize with my heartbeat. Each pulse sent waves of energy through the air, brushing against my skin like a warning whisper.

In that moment, the door flew open with a creak that seemed to split the silence like thunder. Arms shot out from the darkness, wrapping around me with a grip both firm and reassuring. I felt no fear; there was no reason to retaliate. Instead, a sense of calm washed over me, as if I were being welcomed back to a place I had once known.

The "dream" starts now.

I was pulled through the threshold, and as I stepped into the realm beyond the door, I found myself in a vast expanse that seemed to convey no end. The sky was a swirling tapestry of deep indigos and shimmering silvers, alive with stars that twinkled like distant echoes of forgotten stories.

It felt as though I walked atop this mysterious place, an overseer with an intimate knowledge of its secrets.

Before my body abruptly fell to its surface.

Surrounding me was a sprawling landscape of undulating hills and twisted trees, their gnarled branches reaching toward the heavens as if in prayer.

In the distance, a river of liquid light wound its way through the terrain, its surface reflecting the cosmos above, creating a mesmerizing dance of colors. The air was thick with the scent of earth, and every breath felt like inhaling a piece of the cosmos itself.

"Oh, life so soon?" A feminine voice came from behind me, smooth and melodic, breaking the spell of tranquility.
