The city skyline glowed softly as the evening sun dipped beneath the horizon. At Ever's home, warmth spilled from the windows, laughter of the children echoing through the halls as Isla and Leo played with their baby brother, Eandro.
Then the doorbell rang.
Ever, still recovering but glowing with maternal grace, opened the door to find Li Ambrose and Natalia standing side by side. Natalia's hand rested protectively on her eight-months-pregnant belly, while Ambrose held a bouquet of white lilies.
Ever blinked in surprise. "Ambrose? Natalia?"
Ambrose cleared his throat, stepping forward with sincerity in his eyes. "We owe you something, something overdue. An apology."
Natalia nodded, her voice soft but genuine. "We didn't treat you right. I... I was jealous, bitter, and I blamed you for things that were never your fault. But I've grown. And I see now... you've only ever wanted peace and love for your children."
