Chapter One
Aurora's POV
"Today is finally the day I've been waiting for," I muttered as I slowly got off my bed and walked over to the mirror.
Getting married to Ethan is something I had always prayed for and today is the day. I walked into my bathroom, took a quick and warm shower, and walked back into my room only to see my mom holding my beautiful wedding gown.
"What are you doing here, Mom?" I asked coldly even though I was still happy within.
"I'm here to give you a wedding gift as all mothers do and wish you a happy married life with Ethan," Mrs. Eleanor, my mother, said.
"Well, I know it doesn't come from a place of happiness because you wish Celeste was the one getting married today," I half-yelled.
"Don't make it obvious, Aurora. I'm trying to be happy for you today, and at least you get your stupid ass out of my house," Eleanor said, and with that, she threw my wedding dress and the necklace she bought for me angrily on the bed before storming out.
"I also deserve happiness on the last day of my stay in this house," I muttered while applying my lotion.
When I was done, I pressed a bell beside my bed, and three of our maids walked in, ready to dress me up for the wedding. In about an hour, we were done and were about to walk down the stairs when I suddenly remembered my phone.
Left to me, I would love to leave my phone at home and send someone to pick it up for me later, but I have a funny video on my phone that will keep the guests entertained, and my husband-to-be will also love it.
I was already inside the car, sitting comfortably with my cold mother when I suddenly received a call from my husband-to-be. I picked it up without wasting much time.
"Hi, Ethan," I said happily, like every bride should be.
"Are you on your way to the venue already?" Ethan asked and I could feel a sense of nervousness in his voice.
"Yes," I replied, smiling and not caring about my mother's deadly stare.
"Are you ready to walk down the aisle with me?" Ethan asked.
"Have you forgotten that I said yes to your proposal months ago, so I am all ready to walk down the aisle with you," I said happily.
"Am ready also; see you soon, wifey," Ethan said, and the call ended, making me blush.
Immediately I dropped the call, I looked out through the window not ready to start any fierce conversation with my mother.
Just a few minutes later, the driver pulled up our limousine in front of the hotel where all our well wishes were already taking pictures.
I stared at the venue for a few minutes and smiled before looking around for Ethan's car and then caught a glimpse of my sister Celeste coming down from her car. I smiled and waved at her before walking elegantly into the wedding hall like all normal brides should.
My best friend, Isla took my hand as we walked over to a private room to finish my dressing before I was finally called to the altar.
"Are you ready bestie?" Isla asked, smiling.
"Ever ready!" I said, chuckling.
She took my hand as we walked over to the main entrance and handed me over to my father as he led me to the altar to meet my husband-to-be.
All I could see on Celeste's face while walking down the aisle was a mixture of sadness and frustration.
Finally, we got to the altar and the priest said a few prayers before turning to our direction.
"Do you, Ethan Montgomery, take Aurora Sinclair as your lawful wedded wife?" The priest asked.
Ethan stared at me for a few seconds and heaved out a heavy sigh before answering. "Yes, I do take Aurora Sinclair as my lawful wedded wife," Ethan replied, smiling.
The priest then turned to me. "Do you, Aurora Sinclair, take Ethan Montgomery as your lawful wedded husband?" The priest asked.
I stared at the priest for a few seconds before letting go of Ethan's hand and turning to the crowd.
"Before I respond to the priest's question, I'd love to entertain you all with a funny video I captured. Ethan, just calm down. I'm gonna respond very soon," I said, smiling.
"Aurora, what the heck is wrong with you? Just say yes, I do, and show the video later on," my mom yelled, walking over to me.
"Ethan is not worked up about this, so why are you concerned?" I asked.
I stared at the guests, ready to grab their attention, before I signaled to the media to play the video I sent to him a few minutes before the wedding. I made him promise not to open the video till it was time even though I had to shock his hand with a few notes.
I moved backward and stared at the projection as it came up slowly. The guests were all shocked to see the video of my husband-to-be and my sister, Celeste, making out the night before my wedding.
I was walking around Sinclair's mansion, taking a last look around because I was about to get married to the man of my dreams when I suddenly caught an odd sound coming from the guest house, which is just behind the Sinclair mansion.
I walked closer and realized that two people were making out there and wanted to ignore it when I suddenly heard Celeste's voice.
"Maybe she's with one of her guys because this isn't her first," I muttered.
I was walking back into the mansion when I spotted Ethan's favorite car packed secretly in front of Celeste's car. I wondered what it was doing there since Ethan never planned on coming to see me or my parents tonight.
I walked back to the guest house and saw the door unlocked; I walked in only to meet the unexpected. There, I saw my husband-to-be and Celeste in a big mood of making out, not caring if anyone walked in unexpectedly.
I quickly took out my phone and walked to the window where I could get a better angle of the video. I walked back into my room crying my heart out and wondered what I had ever done to Celeste and Ethan to deserve this kind of Betrayal.
I had wanted to call Ethan and cancel the wedding immediately after I got to my room, but I came up with another plan, which was projecting the making-out scene on my wedding day.
I smiled and turned to Ethan who was still shocked about how I found out.
"Don't be shocked, Ethan. Priest, back to your question, I don't take Ethan Montgomery as my lawful wedded husband," I said. With that, I removed the engagement ring I had with me and threw it at Ethan before walking out of the hall.
Eleanor and my father were tailing after me and screaming down my name but I paid no listening ear to them till I got to the private room.
"What the heck has gotten over you, Aurora? Why will you just leave your husband standing on the altar?" My father asked angrily, ready to smack my face.
"Didn't you see the video I projected where he was making out with my sister?" I asked.
"So?" Eleanor asked nonchalantly.
Wow! It wasn't expecting this kind of reaction from my parents after revealing a concrete reason why I couldn't marry Ethan.
"Aurora, I want you to go back to that altar and marry Ethan," Eleanor said.
"You can't make me do what I don't want, Mom," I screamed.
"Then Celeste would," my father said.
"What did you just say, Dad?" I asked, angrily.
"You heard what I said, child. Since you aren't interested in marrying Ethan after catching him making out with your sister, then Celeste would.
One of you must get married to the Montgomery family," my father half-yelled, getting Celeste's attention in the room.
"Without considering my feelings?" I asked.
"Who cares about that in this age and time?" Eleanor asked, rolling her eyes angrily at him.
I thought it was just a way of my parents threatening me to go get married to Ethan, not until Celeste walked in and I was stripped of my wedding gown and given to Celeste since we were almost the same size.
Everything seemed like a dream.
I thought my parents would at least support me once, but I ended up getting betrayed and abandoned.
