Chapter Twenty-One: A New Birth… and the Beginning of an Unknown Fate
After an hour of free sparring between Aislin and me, we are now on our way to the cave, where we will enter hibernation to absorb our training.
After flying for about five minutes, we arrived at the cave.
Upon entering, we found my mother in a deep sleep. Honestly, I don't know why she loves sleeping so much… Is it laziness? Or is it because she has nothing to occupy her time? She just spends her time eating and sleeping.
After looking at my sleeping mother, I shifted my gaze to my dear sister, Aislin.
"Well, my beautiful treasure, are you ready to enter deep hibernation as I told you?"
Aislin looked at me with a tired smile.
Aislin said, "Alright, brother… I really feel sleepy and extremely exhausted… But, brother, do you think I'll have a child? We did it so many times, and I truly want to have one."
I sighed lightly.
"Hmm… I really don't know. If it happens, it would be the happiest thing that could ever happen to us. However, the chances are very slim. We dragons suffer from an extremely low birth rate, and this is one of the reasons that led to the extinction of our race."
After making sure I understood everything the system had told me, I took a deep breath and stared at my sleeping sister, Aislin. Her face looked peaceful, her steady breathing reflecting her tranquility, as if she had no worries about the future.
"Alright, System, activate the 'Chance to Live Another Life.'"
[Ding! Host, the 'Chance to Live Another Life' card will be used, and you will be allowed to choose one skill to use in your next life.]
[Ding! Host, I advise you to choose the skill 'Aura of Desire.']
I raised an eyebrow in doubt. "System, why this skill? It seems useless. I don't think it will be of much benefit."
[Ding! Host, 'Aura of Desire' will be very useful, as it does not require any energy to use. With this skill, you will be able to win over the hearts of women easily and quickly, and there is a chance to develop it further in the future. For this reason, this skill is the best choice, especially if the world you are reborn into is an ordinary one.]
I sighed, still not entirely convinced, but I saw no reason to reject the system's suggestion. "Alright, I'll choose it."
[Ding! Selection confirmed. 'Chance to Live Another Life' will now be activated.]
Drowsiness began creeping into my eyes, and I felt my body sinking into a heavy sense of relaxation, as if I were slowly drifting into an endless ocean…
Before I completely lost consciousness, one final thought slipped into my mind: "No matter what life I will live… there will be no way back."
(From a Third-Person Perspective)
In Another World…
The maid exclaimed, "Master! Your wife has given birth to a child!"
At that moment, a new body was born… a new soul… without any memories of its past life.
In a grand mansion belonging to the Su Family, the atmosphere was tense. Servants moved swiftly, and doctors rushed toward one of the deeper rooms within the estate. A woman's screams echoed through the halls, mixed with the calming instructions of the midwife attempting to soothe her.
Amidst all the chaos, a tall, imposing man stood still. His black hair was neatly styled, and his eyes held a mix of anxiety and anticipation. This was Su Tian, the patriarch of the Su Family and one of the most powerful men in the kingdom. His fists were clenched, but he dared not enter the room just yet.
Then… suddenly, the long-awaited words came.
"He is born! The young master has been born!"
A newborn's cry followed—weak yet brimming with life.
Su Tian's tense expression softened slightly, though he did not move until the midwife emerged, carrying a small infant wrapped in a soft cloth.
The gathered servants and family elders bowed respectfully. "Congratulations, Master, it's a boy!"
Su Tian looked at the child in her arms. So small, his skin smooth, his features still indistinct. His eyes remained closed, but his tiny fingers twitched slightly as if trying to grasp something unseen.
Silently, Su Tian reached out and took the child into his arms. For a moment, he was unsure what he felt—pride? Or responsibility? But he understood one thing… this child was his heir, the continuation of his family, his future.
"Su Ling… that will be your name," Su Tian declared.
As he held the infant, the child's mother lay weakly on the bed, her face pale but adorned with a gentle smile. She gazed at her husband and the baby in his arms.
In a faint voice, she whispered, "Take good care of him… He is our treasure."
Su Tian looked at her, then back at the child. Deep within, he had no idea that this small, fragile baby was actually someone else—a person starting an entirely new life… completely unaware of the past he had left behind.
After Three Years
In the back training yard of the Su family, the little boy Su Ling, three years old, was running between the trees adorned with falling cherry blossoms. His childish laughter filled the place, while his younger sister Su Mi, who had not yet reached her second year, was trying to catch up with him with stumbling steps.
"Brother! Wait for me!" Su Mi called out in her small voice, her wide eyes full of innocence sparkling under the sunlight.
Su Ling stopped, then turned around smiling as he extended his hand to her. "Come, I won't let you fall!"
She ran towards him, and when she was about to lose her balance, he gently caught her, making her face light up with childish happiness.
In a small courtyard inside the Su family mansion, the sun seeped through the leaves of the peach trees, sending its golden rays over the green grass. The sounds of childish laughter echoed in the air, mixed with the sound of the wind gently moving the tree leaves.
In the midst of all this, there was a small boy, three years old, with jet-black hair and eyes shining like stars, running excitedly while his features carried the innocence of childhood. Right behind him was a little girl, barely two years old, running slowly while laughing, trying to catch up with him despite her short legs.
"Brother! Wait for me!" The little girl, Su Mi, called out in her sweet voice as she tried to run as fast as she could.
The boy turned to her with a smile, then suddenly stopped, causing her to collide with him directly and fall to the ground. She seemed on the verge of crying, but the boy quickly bent down, wiped the dirt off her small white dress, then held her hands and helped her up.
"Don't cry, Su Mi! Warriors don't cry!" The boy said with childish firmness, trying to imitate the tone of adults.
The girl, named Su Mi, blinked her teary eyes, then nodded her head strongly as she wiped her small nose.
"I am not weak! I will become strong like you, Brother!" She said enthusiastically, even though she was still too young to understand the true meaning of strength.
The boy laughed as he placed his hands on his waist proudly.
"Of course! When you grow up, I will teach you how to become strong like me!"
At that moment, a warm breeze blew, carrying peach petals that flew through the air, making the scene look like a refined painting, making the little girl's heart pound strongly.
But what Su Ling did not realize was that an invisible aura had begun to form around him—the effect granted to him by the system: "Desire Aura". At this stage, the aura had not yet reached its full power, but its effect was clear, even if neither he nor those around him were consciously aware of it.
The maids who were watching the children from afar felt a strange attraction toward this little boy. It wasn't just his beauty or his innocence, but something in his presence made it difficult to ignore him.
"He's… unnaturally charming, isn't he?" One maid whispered to another, placing her hand on her heart, which had started to beat faster for no apparent reason.
"Yes, he is just a child, but… I don't know, I can't stop myself from paying too much attention to him." The other responded, her eyes shining with a strange feeling between admiration and the desire to care for and protect him.
Even Madam Su, his mother, who was watching them from the palace balcony, couldn't help but feel an unusual sense of pride toward her son. She had another child, but she found herself leaning more toward Su Ling, feeling that her love for him was deeper than it should be.
As Su Ling played with his sister, he was unaware that his influence was gradually spreading and that every woman around him would find herself drawn to him in one way or another, whether as a mother, a sister, a friend… or perhaps, in the future, something more than that.
But at this moment, he was just a child, playing and laughing, completely unaware of the fate that awaited him.
