Rachel Foster's face grew increasingly pale as she leaned against the doorframe, her body suddenly feeling weak.
"Mommy!"
Jackson Foster came running, with the nanny anxiously following behind.
The little guy rushed over and hugged her.
She stumbled slightly before steadying herself.
"Mommy, Daddy isn't going to the office today. He said he wants to take me to preschool with you..." Jackson hugged her, his innocent face beaming with joy.
It had been quite a while since Rachel had seen Jackson this genuinely happy.
Over the past month, due to her and Kingsly Scott's unfortunate estrangement, the little guy had sensed some subtle changes in his parents' behavior. However, because their excuse was that Kingsly was extremely busy with work, Jackson, though clearly unhappy, never complained about it. Yet Rachel knew he had been feeling unusually down.
