"But, perhaps you won't believe this, Sir," Daxter said cautiously, hesitating to continue. There was a weight in his voice, as if what he was about to say could trigger an explosion.
Lucas narrowed his eyes, his face hardening. "Say it clearly, Daxter. Don't make me guess."
Daxter swallowed hard, then spoke softly, "They... are dating." He then lowered his head, unable to meet Lucas's eyes that were now filled with the fire of anger.
Lucas stood tall, his body tense. His breathing was heavier than before, and his eyes glowed with a cold intensity.
"Find out the truth," he said sharply, every word laced with pressure. "I don't want assumptions or mere gossip. I want solid proof."
"Yes, Sir," Daxter responded quickly, bowing his head in respect, then promptly walked away to carry out the order.
