"I'm Marcus," the man finally said, breaking the tense silence between them. "Mr. Axton's trusted aide."
Lucas nodded slowly. There was a trace of understanding on his face, accompanied by a faint smile that was barely visible. "No wonder you're always near Axton," he said quietly.
"Where are we going? It seems unlikely that you're just taking me home," Lucas asked, his gaze wary as he looked out the window.
"To the hospital. That's the safest place for you right now. Besides, you should get your wounds checked out," Marcus answered without hesitation.
Lucas took a deep breath and nodded. "Alright."
He knew it was the most reasonable decision for now. A hospital could be a temporary shelter and far from anyone's suspicion.
The car began to move away from the accident and the chaos. "Who were they?" he asked softly, still staring ahead.
Marcus glanced briefly at Lucas, who sat beside him, then replied, "Same as us. But this time, they're harder to negotiate with for Mr. Axton."
