Darren's POV
The flight was peaceful, even with Adriana's head on my shoulder. As the plane touched the runway, the jerking vibrations jolted her awake, her eyes staring around like she was lost.
"Are we back?"
I nodded, pulling her head back to my shoulder as she pouted her lips, sulking in my ear. We stayed in our seats, watching everyone disembark before I grabbed our bags from the overhead luggage compartment.
I was mentally exhausted, walking into the airport with the scorching sun stinging my skin. It was high noon when we arrived and I just pictured myself taking a long bath before climbing into bed.
"I need a longer nap. I don't know why I have so much jet lag. My head's spinning."
"Well, you've been stressed lately. You deserve a week off, but I'm sure you won't take it."
"Obviously. A week away from you? Never on your eternal life. But if we both take the week off at one of your condos? Then, I'm game."
