Darren's POV
I woke up to an empty bed, the sunlight sneaking in behind the curtains. I rolled out of bed, tossing the covers aside to get to the bathroom. I took a short bath, brushed my teeth and dried up. I fished out a pair of shorts and a beach shirt, putting them on as I walked out.
"Kristin, what's for breakfast?"
I listened for her response but there was nothing. I rushed down the stairs, fixing the last button as I got off.
I searched the house in seconds but there was no sign of her. Her bed lay bare, the kitchen empty and the tons of other bedrooms were also empty. I pushed open the front door, walking around the mansion. I called out again, but not as loudly, trusting that she would hear me.
Humans could be walking around and although the barrier shielded the mansion from their eyes, my voice would easily reach them.
"Where in the blood could she be?"
