Darren's POV
"Enough of that. We'll talk about a way to handle your lawbreaking later. I'm more interested in how you were able to get in undetected, especially into this section of my palace. Even other witches can't get in through the front door without my permission, but you basically teleported in. Tell me, how did you do it?"
"I can't do that. Knowing you, you'd rip them to shreds. You can be really compassionate at times, but you're always ruthless."
She frowned at my words, her forehead creasing as her eyes stared in anger.
"You know me well. I'll just have to tighten my security then."
"Twenty years touring the continent and you think I'd forget your fiery personality?"
"Was it that long? It seemed like a couple of months to me. I guess things were going so fast that I barely noticed."
I shook my head, knowing that she was lying. The years we had spent together weren't something she would easily forget.
