Darren's POV
In the centre was the large fire that burned fiercely. Everything seemed to be arranged around it, ensuring that its light reached every corner. My eyes moved quickly, counting the people I could see. 18. 18 men and women who looked too wild to be humans. No human would gladly dig a cave like this to create a small settlement.
"Werewolves."
I didn't need Alexander to point it out for me. It was obvious. They walked around in very few clothes, with most of their feet bare. My eyes landed on a corner, and what I saw immediately pushed my anger through the roof. My eyes turned yellow instantly, and Alexander immediately noticed the shift in my aura.
On the ground were bodies. Humans of different ages. Their skins had been ripped off, exposing their flesh and bones. Right next to the bloody pile was a fire, a different one that was much smaller than the one in the centre. Above it were two bodies. Human bodies cooked over a fire.
