Darren's POV
"Xander, you're sure they're still on this mountain?"
"Definitely, my lord. When have my tracking skills ever failed you?"
He was right, but I still couldn't help but wonder if he was somehow lacking. We had left the towns over an hour ago, but there was no sign of another group of werewolves. Not even a single one.
The night would soon be over. The sun would rear its head and embrace us. The eeriness of the night departed. The calm of the dark scorched away by the sun.
What I had to do now was dark and bloody. It would be much better if I did it under the cover of a hidden moon.
"Kristin, how many werewolves have we killed so far?"
"They're not exactly dead, but it's 67."
"That means we have 20 werewolves left. The elusive Alpha and his mate, and the rest of the Betas."
"And definitely a few Omegas. I don't trust that they have that many Betas in their pack. If they did, they would definitely not stay hidden."
