"How did you know I was here?" Bret asked his daughter.
"Well, dad, I'm a werewolf. I just followed my nose." She replied, wondering why he would even have to ask. Then she realized he probably used a scent masking spray. It would be a logical thing to do, when spying on werewolves who don't want you around. "My nose has always been very sensitive. I am surprised I was able to pick it up, it was very faint." It was true, her sense of smell was legendary.
"I am very careful about masking my scent in certain situations," He said curtly.
"Like when you are trespassing in a pack that banished you?" She was never one to ignore the facts just because they were unpleasant. "Don't worry, no one knows I am talking to you right now. I'm not trying to cause trouble for you."
"I appreciate that." He said. His slightly sarcastic tone matched the small smile he offered. His eyes just looked sad. Sad and tired. He didn't look like much of a threat to anything in his current state.
