"What the fuck, Demus?" Bret was livid. "Why would you bring her here, knowing I was talking to my daughter? What part of she wants to kill my pup did you miss?" He would deal with the warlock later. He went to shift and chase down his crazy mate, but he found that he couldn't shift. He couldn't move at all. "Did you cast a binding spell on me?" He stared at Demus, whose face remained calm, impassive. "Let me go right fucking now!" He screamed. "You fucking traitor!"
"Your pup will survive." Demus said, providing no more detail. "Now shut up before I make you."
"What's your game, Demus? You are supposed to be on my side!" Bret struggled to move, beads of sweat forming on his forehead. "Why are you doing this?"
Demus looked at him, a slight smirk on his face. "You always thought I was in your pocket, didn't you. Your loyal servant, at your beck and call, providing you with whatever you wanted from me, all for what? So you could abandon the plan at the end?"
