Nyah ran faster than she had ever run before, and Lucky let her take the reigns. "Where are we?" She asked Nyah, watching the trees fly by. The only sound was Nyah's paws hitting the ground as she headed towards a distant light.
"We are nowhere we want to stay," said Nyah. "I would like to watch our pups grow up."
"The pups!" Lucky exclaimed. "My pups are here. When can I see them?"
"As long as we get to that light before it goes out, soon!" Nyah sounded frantic and it made Lucky's blood run cold.
"What happened?" Lucky asked.
"You died." Nyah said bluntly. "But you are about to be revived." Nyah put extra effort into closing the gap between them and the light, which looked like a swirling kaleidoscope of colors. Without a pause, she leaped through it, and Lucky suddenly opened her eyes and saw the familiar walls of her bedroom.
"Lucky?" Traven grabbed her face, looking into her open eyes. "We thought you were gone. You had no heartbeat. No breathing."
