Lucky watched as Neveah and Lola finished sparring, winding up as usual in a laughing heap. "I think I won," Neveah claimed.
Her identical sister, Lola, disagreed. "I think not." They were thirteen now, and when they weren't sparring, they were talking about finding their mates, speculating about different possibilities. Traven often said they couldn't be mated until they were at least thirty.
Her daughters were beautiful, both resembling Traven, but with Lucky's bright green eyes. Lola wore hers long, halfway down her back, while Neveah preferred to keep hers shorter, in a bob that angled back from her chin. Lucky was thankful for their different styles, sometimes even she had trouble telling them apart.
Flappy and Baby Girl ambled over, and the girls rushed to play with the two dogs. Lucky was grateful for the spell Sabrina and Demus had created to lengthen the dogs' lives. They would be around for a long time.
