Ovelia's POV
My heart raced uncontrollably, an anxious drumbeat in my chest. I couldn't shake the feeling that I had displeased Ace in some way. Was it my hair? Its perfect styling seemed to spark anger in his eyes.
Suddenly, Ace's grip on my hand tightened, sending a jolt of pain through me.
"Ace, you're hurting me," I murmured, my voice trembling, but he wouldn't meet my gaze.
We stood in front of the bedroom door, and without a word, he flung it open and shoved me inside. I fell onto the bed, thankful for its softness that spared me from any real hurt.
"What's wrong with you, Ace? Why are you so angry?" I questioned, my heartbeat echoing in my ears.
He stepped closer, and instinctively, I scooted back on the bed, fear creeping into my veins. Ace climbed onto the bed, positioning himself over me, his legs pinning mine down, his grip on my wrists firm yet stifling.
