Sirius was apoplectic. He launched to his feet, staring at me with a wild mixture of awe and extreme anxiety. Sweat beaded and rolled down his temple as his wand appeared in his hand, trembling, ready.
Naturally, his sudden aggression caused the Grangers to recoil, pressing themselves back into the couch. Mr. Granger instinctively reached out, one arm around Hermione, the other protectively shielding his wife.
"Calm down, Sirius," I said evenly. My voice made him flinch. His dog-like instincts betrayed him, and he let out a low pout before slowly sitting back down, his grip on the wand loosening, but not entirely. Once he settled, I turned my gaze back to Hermione's parents.
"As I was saying, you are connected to the Grindelwald family."
The room held its breath. The Grangers, unsure of whether this was revelation or condemnation, nodded tentatively. I continued.
"This family is... infamous. But not because of its bloodline or even its magic. No, its reputation was sealed by the actions of a single man, Gellert Grindelwald."
Hermione leaned forward, curiosity overtaking her caution. Her father mirrored her posture, wide-eyed and utterly hooked.
"Grindelwald was once close to Dumbledore, the same Dumbledore who now leads Hogwarts. But Gellert's philosophy diverged. He believed that muggles—no-mag, as some say, were not the enemy of wizardkind... but simply 'other.' Different. Not inferior, but not irrelevant either."
Sirius's knuckles turned white around his wand. Harry leaned in, brows furrowed with that familiar storm of questions he never quite asked aloud. Hermione broke the silence soon after his expressions turned stormy.
"That... doesn't sound bad at all. Actually, it's better than what most pure-bloods in Slytherin mutter under their breath..."
Her voice trailed off, eyebrows knitting together as the wheels in her mind began to turn. Her expression shifted—not in fear, but into something far more Hermione: contemplation. A subtle frown formed, the kind she wore when an equation didn't quite add up, or a theory had an overlooked variable.
She leaned back slightly, not out of discomfort, but to observe the larger picture from a distance. You could almost see the calculations forming in her mind—connecting historical bias, propaganda, war, and ethics.
'Why was a man with such a seemingly mild philosophy imprisoned... when so many darker voices still echoed freely in the halls of Hogwarts?'
That unspoken question hung thick in the air, like a thread everyone felt but no one wanted to pull. Even Sirius didn't interrupt this time... His jaw clenching as he stared down at the ground, my mouth widening in a small smile.
"He wasn't entirely wrong," I admitted. "If you viewed magic as a mutation, an evolutionary branch, then yes, magicals would be 'other.' A different species, perhaps, even if biologically close. In that light, his ideology wasn't delusion... it was logic."
The room tensed as they sensed a 'but' lingering on the tip of my tongue.
"But... logic can be a dangerous tool in the wrong hands. The flaw in Grindelwald's thinking wasn't his categorization of muggles, it was in how he used people to chase his ideal. And more importantly?"
I paused, letting that silence reign just that touch longer, driving deeper my next point.
"He lost."
Sirius blinked rapidly before speaking up, his voice somewhat raspy as he stared at me, befuddled. " 'He lost'... Is that the only thing you have to say for the madman's slaughter of countless wizards and witches!?" Sighing aloud I turned to regard him.
"Yes." The man's eyes bulged as I swiftly followed up my statement.
"The only thing that was truly wrong about his ideal... was the naivety of its scope. His vision demanded nuance that the world wasn't ready for. He believed too much in order, in enforced harmony. But that belief, however logical in his mind, was built on a foundation of control. And when you try to control people, especially wizards, without enough charisma or raw power to force them to believe in your dream, you lose."
His tension was cut, like the strings to a puppet. An exhaustion settled into his features that accentuated just how weary he was of the topic, though he did little to stifle any more of my words.
"No matter... Gellert, is currently locked within his own castle. You are his descendent and therefor would have a massive target painted upon your back, if people were to know that you are Hermione Grindelwald, instead of Hermione Granger." Hermione looked panicked as she stood up.
"B-but what about the goblins!?" A smile remained on my face.
"They won't care. They don't answer to the Ministry or any wizarding government. If anything, they'll find it amusing that they uncovered something the Ministry missed. No, they won't be a problem."
Her panic only softened slightly, still written in her eyes as I added gently, "But in the future, it may be wise to form a cordial relationship with them. Just in case." Harry chuckled a little at the agape facial expression of her parents. His entire posture relayed his comfort with the topic, drawing a raised eyebrow from Artoria.
Noticing her stare he shrugged and exclaimed his beliefs, "I agree with Grindelwald in a way, at least on the non-magical people... They can't do the same things we can, but that doesn't make them valueless just different. I don't want to hunt them or hurt them like Voldemort and honestly my own experience with them has been terrible..."
He paused, his words trailing off as Sirius looked at him, perplexed. The older man hadn't yet heard what Harry had been through, and now, his posture tightened, muscles coiling subtly, as if bracing for an unseen blow.
"But… just because some of them hurt me, doesn't mean they're all bad," Harry added, his voice quieter now, more thoughtful. Then he turned to me. "Freya… could you tell me what else he believed in?"
I narrowed my eyes slightly, the corner of my mouth twitching into a half-shrug. "Sure," I said, letting a casualness bleed into my voice that nearly gave Sirius an aneurism.
"He believed that magicals shouldn't have to hide. That suppressing magic, forcing it into the shadows, was damaging, not just to us, but to the world and to the magical creatures that rely on our presence. Beyond that… well, he had some colourful ideas. Like the belief that those with the most potential, magicals, should guide the world. Rule it, even. Not out of tyranny, but out of a belief that they could teach the rest how to care for it… and for each other."
Yuna cackled softly at the end of my explanation, her laughter cutting through the tension like a whip. "He wanted to guide?" she scoffed, a sharp grin on her face. "Sounds just like my father… egotistical and manipulative. The only difference is, my father never lost, and he's still alive."
I nodded slowly, the grin fading from my lips as a twinge of unease curled in my chest. Images of Ra's al Ghul filtered into my mind, drawn from the archives buried deep within my information package.
'You're right, love. They are much alike... but different in the ways that matter most.'
Leaving my inner monologue unspoken, I turned to the Grangers, Hermione and her parents, who were now murmuring quietly among themselves. Her father, Jean, looked utterly flustered, while Amanda glared daggers at me. I welcomed the glare. It meant she was taking me seriously.
Sirius, meanwhile, shot me a series of increasingly complex glances, his gaze drifting often toward Harry, who had started chatting quietly with Yuna.
Personally, I couldn't find much inherently wrong with Gellert's principles. Naïve, yes, but not evil. They were rooted in his prophetic glimpses of the future and a desperate desire to stop what would become World War Two. Of course, elements of control and power clung to his ideas, but what ideology didn't?
Whether politician or freedom fighter, everyone seeks control, some just lie about it better. And really, who was I to scorn Gellert's ideals, when my own had led me to conquer an entire country... simply to halt the extermination of innocents at the hands of a species I had already begun to leave behind, months ago.
No, there was little that I found incorrect with his beliefs. It was the manner in which he intended to 'reign' that I despised.
"Apologies for the tangent. It's difficult not to delve into ideology when discussing someone like him. But moving past that... I needed to bring this up because it concerns your daughter, and potentially both of you as well. And, of course, I came to discuss certain matters with Sirius regarding Harry."
Everyone turned to me, the tension visibly deflating from the room as my words cut through the air. "As the ruler of Australia, I am willing to grant you all Australian citizenship."
Sirius, Jean, and Amanda all frowned, their gazes uncertain, before I raised my hand to stop them. I needed them to hear me out fully before they reacted. "I do not wish for your family to be targeted because of prejudices born from past conflicts. If offering you this small gesture of protection can offer you safety, then I will do so willingly."
Harry was strangely the first to speak out when I finished. "Why are you going to such lengths for us... We only met a few days ago and yet you are willing to risk danger for us..." He took a breath and blinked softly. "Why?"
The word hung in the air, the rest turning towards me. My own lovers, wives really, they turned to me with raised eyebrows and knowing expressions.... Inside I could tell it was because there was some part of me that desired a family again...my women were lovely, and I cherished them deeply. They were my comfort, my heart, but still, there was a hollow space. The kind of emptiness that only comes from missing a loud, reckless brother figure or a troublemaking nephew who sets off fireworks just to see what happens. I missed the mess of family, the chaos, the laughter, the unexpected warmth of being part of something big and uncontrollable.
"My name is Freya Bragisdottir." They all looked mildly shocked, apart from my ladies. "And as of a few days ago, I am also Freya Emrys. Freya LeFay. Freya Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff... and more." Sirius stared at me evenly, not knowing where this was going.
Harry, the Boy-Who-Lived, met my gaze. His eyes widened sharply, as if some internal equation had just clicked into place, and then he shot to his feet. Confusion flooded his face, washing through like rivulets of sweat down a fevered brow.
"That would mean… Oh, damn..."
Sirius, still leaning casually in his seat, straightened, the edges of his posture sharpening. He glanced from Harry to me and back again, a flicker of foreboding dancing in his eyes.
"Harry? Pup…? What's going on?"
Harry gulped before sitting back down again, facing Sirius directly. I sat back, letting the boy explain what he had found in the bloodline test a couple days beforehand.
"Sirius... I, i did a bloodline test with Hermione..." Sirius nodded deeply, "Yeah, Freya said as much earlier, I-" Harry interrupted with a small edge to his voice, as if attempting to regain his composure himself, for the reveal... "On it I found that i was a Potter..." Sirius nodded in concern.
"I also found that I am connected to the Peverells..." Another nod, more reluctant this time. "My great-great grandmother was an Emyrs... Further in the line there was LeFay bloodline detected. And, finally, on my mother's side, there was the Gaunt family." Sirius's face went blank as he simply stared at his Godson. Hermione was looking at me with a timid smile whilst her parents just listened along, probably not understanding most of this.
A small croak exited Sirius's mouth before he eventually spoke up. "So, she is your family?" The words echoed off the walls as my wives stared at me evenly, Yuna grinning ear-to-ear whilst Artoria folded her hands over her lap.
Harry eventually nodded, shooting me a glance that oozed a request for support. "I am his cousin. You are still his blood-bound Godfather... You will be his closest family. I will be here for you both and be teaching him at Hogwarts. In a way, we are also family."
They both smiled at me before Sirius mischievously grinned, "I guess that means we'll also be royalty?" Artoria scoffed as Yuna lightly punched him in the shoulder whilst laughing. Harry was smiling widely now whilst Hermione watched the boy with a small blush painting her cheeks.
"Technically... Though I am sure you don't want to go through all of the formalities..." Sirius chuckled awkwardly before clapping his hands together.
"Right then! This calls for a party!" He was certainly jubilant at the idea of getting past all of the complex topics, philosophy and hereditary shenanigans. Honestly I felt the same, some topics were very stuffy and I preferred to keep things light.
"Mr and Mrs Granger, do you want to join us for the party?" The granger family, or as they could now be known as: the Grindelwalds, looked at one another before nodding slowly.
"Sure... Is there a specific style required?" I shook my head.
"No, if you wish I'll get you clothes whilst we're there! Damn, I may even be able to get you guys hooked up with a citizenship and house right away." Sirius paused in his excitement, looking towards me questioningly.
Looking at him I quickly answered the question that had gone unanswered. "Of course, if we're having a party then we are doing it in my country!" Harry immediately gained some excitement whilst Sirius just shrugged it off and grinned madly, turning to harry whilst waggling his eyebrows... "Look out pup, you'll have to keep the ladies off of me."
Harry pushed him somewhat before laughing at his continued antics. "Sirius, go grab Andromeda and her family. I'll get them setup as well." He nodded and instantly apparated, the shadowy mist vanishing up into the ceiling whilst the Grangers all ran off upstairs to get ready for the trip.
"Freya, love, you'll have to let Susan and Hela know." Winking at Artoria I summoned my Patronus once more before giving it a short message. We would be taking my apartment's dimensional travel for this journey.
"All sorted!"
...
Half an Hour Later...
In the main lounge room of the Grangers now stood Ted Tonks, a blonde haired middle-aged man with a rather well kept beard and the fashion sense of a modern businessman. His wife Andromeda with lovely flowing brown hair, fine angled cheekbones that so often ran in the Black family and a rather comfortable silver and black ensemble.
To their side was the loveable Nymphadora Tonk who currently had pinkish-white hair with a full modern trench coat, a lovely stretchy shirt and tight denim pants. She was currently eyeing Harry off with some interest as he had Sirius draped over his shoulder and poking his cheek whilst he blushed.
Hermione and her family was opposite them, behind the couch, and seemed to be running the final checks to their outfits before looking to me and nodding.
"All ready?" All of them gave an affirmation, whether it be a nod or a simple incline of the head.
Licking my lips and pulling on that part of me that was deeply connected to Apex I willed the Bifrost energies to pour down through the room and connect to each person. The sensation of floating within space pooled around us all as gravity seemed reversed within this moment as rainbow light coiled around us like snakes.
Spatial energy crackled at the edge my perception before breaking the coils and then pulling us through a simultaneously small but massive crack through space time. Suddenly cement was below us and all of us landed upon the road just outside the city in the middle of Australia. The name of the city was still up for grabs, but I would tell them the name that I tentatively used.
"Welcome to Australia, specifically a city built for extraordinary people called Freyheimr!" Gasps and awed expressions met my introduction as they watched my Star Destroyer hover in the distance whilst Tie fighters roared through the skies alongside cargo-ships.
Nearby mutants and Inhumans walked the streets in business attire and even military uniforms. The city itself seemed carved of marble and exuded such a busy atmosphere that the noise almost echoed through the very streets. Sidewalks were utterly clean and maintained. Walls weren't marred by graffiti or artistic depictions of cocks or vaginas, everything looked peaceful. A few skyscrapers were being built in the distance with metal harmoniously floating through the air whilst helicopters and planes dotted the sky along certain paths.
'It seems the city is going well... I'll need to check in with Niccolo.'
"I-is this the capital of Australia? It is awesome..." Harry was gobsmacked whilst Artoria and Yuna smirked in pride. Both of them had helped in administering input to the way the city should be run, Artoria specifically.
"Not the capital, but I am thinking of naming it that once everything is built. As it is Australia is the most conventionally defended country on Earth. We have energy shields created with technology and the only human spaceship that can actually travel interstellar; well, if you don't consider what Reed was able to build."
Hermione was practically agape with the scope of it all, so much so she exclaimed rather loudly... "Freya!? Is this why you were teaching us that muggles are something we should become more knowledgeable about!?"
Sirius paled immediately at the attention we were getting before I placed a comforting hand on his shoulder.
"Don't worry the statute of secrecy is fine here. The people who live here are much like you wizards and witches, evolved humans." All of them turned to look at me in abject horror, or was it curiosity, perhaps the two came together as a pair.
"W-what do you mean...?" Sirius whispered out.
"Well, there are Mutants, Inhumans, Metahumans and Force Wielders here in the city with a small amount of Humans. These distinctions are more for the way in which they gained their powers or superhuman abilities." I continued after a small breath. "My lovely Yuna here is a Mutant with the ability to scan the bloodlines and DNA that makes up animals, humans and so many other creatures and gain all of their positive traits permanently, should she choose to." Yuna waved coyly.
"That person over there is an Inhuman, a person who was exposed to certain alien DNA that then unlocked precursors in their blood. Many of them have similar powers to Mutants. Metahumans are the same, slightly different, but the same yet again." All of them were glued to me, their attentions rapt and unyielding.
"Force Wielders are different... Much like Seers or Metamorphmagus they have gained access to an intrinsic connection or power. Force Wielders are connected to a universal power known simply as 'The Force'. It can offer prophetic powers, physical power, telekinetic, telepathic, scientific and possibly even magical powers... But it requires dedication, training and certain techniques to fully comprehend or grasp it." They all looked like dear in headlights at this point.
"A-anyway, we'll talk more about it soon. Let's go get my lovely wives!"
Sirius balked at this. "THERE'S MORE OF THEM!?!?"
'Hahahaha, yes, yes, fall to the chaos!' Both Yunas cackled.
B-
Both Yunas cackled...
'Ooohhh fuck, please no...'
"Cake Motherfuckers!"
