Chapter 19 - The Journey to the Academy

Yesterday, he had been lost in thought about many things, but today, he was fully prepared.

Normally, Tama would come to wake him up, but he had been too excited to sleep and was already wide awake.

"It's Tama. Excuse me, Young Master Rafayel."

With those words, Tama entered the room.

Usually, she would find him still in bed, but today, he was already dressed in his uniform and ready to greet her.

"Good morning, Young Master Rafayel. You're already up today?" she said with slight surprise.

"Good morning, Tama. It's the entrance ceremony today. I can't be late!" Rafayel replied proudly.

"That's right. As expected of you, Young Master Rafayel. Master, Madam, Young Master Thomas, Young Miss Thalia, and Young Master Greyson are all waiting in the hall."

"Got it! Thanks. I'll be on my way!"

With that, he briskly left his room.

When he arrived at the hall, the first person to greet him, as expected, was his eldest brother, Thomas.

"Good morning, Rafayel. Today is finally your entrance ceremony. I'll be there with Father and Mother to watch you looking all dashing," Thomas said, clasping Rafayel's hand and gazing at him warmly.

Rafayel chuckled and responded, "Good morning, Big Brother. I've been looking forward to this day as well. Watch over me so I can have a great time at the academy."

Internally, however, he couldn't help but wonder, Wait… doesn't Thomas have work with his unit?

After greeting his parents, his sister Thalia, and his brother Greyson, they all had breakfast before setting off for the academy.

Thalia and Greyson had both attended the magic academy.

Thalia, having the potential to become an advanced fire magic user, had been scouted at the age of ten and enrolled immediately.

Greyson had struggled with whether to join the knight order but ultimately chose the magic academy, not wanting to be constantly compared to Thomas.

Thalia focused on fire magic, while Greyson specialized in wind magic, and both were diligently working to improve their abilities.

They had wanted to accompany Rafayel to his entrance ceremony, but since the magic academy also held its own entrance ceremony on the same day, they had to stay behind to assist.

For the first time in a while, Rafayel found himself riding in a carriage.

His family's estate was located in the countryside, far from the royal capital.

Since his father and siblings only left for work or school, they rarely went out otherwise.

The household regularly received deliveries of necessities, and if anything additional was needed, the servants would go into town to shop.

Because of this, Rafayel had barely left the estate grounds and had only ridden in a carriage a handful of times.

The changing scenery outside the carriage window fascinated him, and he eagerly leaned out, looking around in wonder.

His parents chuckled.

"If you get too excited now, you'll be exhausted later. What will you do if you fall asleep during the ceremony?" his father teased.

"You'll be seeing this view every day from now on. Save some of the excitement for later," his mother added with a smile.
