As Cades was walking closer and closer to the snake, the water barely being at the height of his knees, dispersed by the entire area having been flattened by the clash of the two gigantic monsters, he could see how the regenerative power of the white snake was steadily diminishing.
The ground around the once powerful monster was covered in tendrils of watered-down blood extending from the bleeding corpse, crushed in multiple places.
Finally, Cades arrived, walked around the monster until he was face-to-face with the once majestic being that had ruled over this region for who-knows-how-long, a being that had destroyed entire empires for revenge.
The once golden eyes, a signifying symbol of the wyrms, were now milky with various small blood-vessels having been ruptured and blood streaming across the once humongous eyeball with that very same eye still somehow focusing on the small ehetrian standing in front of it.
Cades was about to bring his staff down and crush the little bit that remained of the body of the ancient goliath.. but Cades just couldn't bring himself to do it yet.
This monster had been alive for an unimaginable amount of time, it knew countless secrets.
His goal was to find out what happened ang act out his revenge against those that took his everything, and out of all being on this world the wyrm calling itself Nyeupe probably knew the most about what had happened.
Cades had no mind to think about the fact that the wyrm would probably try to manipulate him, and Cades didn't really care.
Though the insurmountable anger might've slightly diminished it was still sieving and burning his sanity as he was just standing there, in front of the once invincible monster, silver staff in hand and held up to crush the pathetic remains of the ancient, arrogant but also wise wyrm.
But as Cades was thinking all of this a bodyless voice sounded aloud, still with the very same arrogance as when it was first heard at the start of this violent battle albeit a bit shaky now.
"Do it, pathetic avian child, no matter what you do, the destined king will one day avenge all of us."
The arrogant voice with which the wyrm had begun its "speech" had transformed into what one would expect a sentient snake to talk like, quiet and with a horrendously great lisp but the remaining power of the great monster could still be easily felt, not that anyone standing around it would've been intimidated by that little remaining power after what had happened and in what kind of a state the wielder of that power and voice was now.
And with the snakes bloodied, milky gaze still focusing on Cades he began talking.
"Do you know anything about ehetria ?"
The arrogant snake seemed to refuse to answer.
However, the snakes eyes seemed to lose focus, either because of the blood-loss and pain that was obscuring its mind, or, more likely, because the wyrm didn't know what ehetria was.
That fact was very much understandable, there were over fifty thousand worlds and about a hundred dimensions that belonged to the system in which Cades had resided all of his life.
This world didn't belong to any of the worlds that belonged to his home-system and it stood to reason that there were an unimaginable number of such undiscovered dimensions and worlds hidden in infinity, the chances of this snake knowing one specific world in one specific system was close to zero.
As such Cades had to reform the question, the snake wouldn't know about much but it stood to reason that the form or at least the sequence in which the attacks followed onto each other.
First there were countless bright explosions.
Then there were countless disgusting, abhorrent creatures ripping apart everything that was left over and indiscriminately slay children, woman, animals, men and whatever else there was.
"What do you know of an attack that begins with countless bright explosions and is then followed by an attack of countless horrendous, abhorrent creatures that rip apart the rest of the world ?"
The snakes eyes narrowed as it once again began speaking with the well-known arrogant voice that soon turned into what one could only imagine to be its original voice before it strengthened it with the incredible power of a being at the very peak of the lord rank, a being that could practically be called a demi.
Cades didn't know the name for the rank after a lord, barely anyone knew of it, those that resided under the gods gave a lot of their power to those very same gods as a sacrifice to be protected from all kinds of threats, in ehetrias case this was the peak of the apex rank but in many other worlds, such as the one he was currently on, the cap was much higher.
"I don't know what you think of how this works, but I have no idea who or what you could be talking about.
That's a very basic battle strategy used by practically everyone that has the power to do so.
It's basically just a powerful frontal attack followed by the invasion of a great army.
However, if you are finally done with this I'd ask of you to end it and not torture me with the plain ignorance and blissful insanity of your pathetic mind, that can't even relate to what I think, unless, of course, you wish to ask me something else."
This time the wyrm's voice soon turned into more of a mocking after tone that was similar to that of a wise teacher and often interchanged between both genders, as if to show just how talented and skilful at transforming itself this being was.
The wyrm's mocking speech did indeed reach its purpose, Cades was greatly angered but he still had the mind to ask one last question, a question that had been in the back of his mind since the beginning, since the very first few sentences that he had exchanged with the, back then, glorious, white snake.
And as Cades began talking with a surprisingly calm voice, trying to keep his anger under wraps the entire world seemed to fall quiet as it heard what was being said.
"Who or what... is that 'king' you talk about ?"
