{Chapter: 168 Sober Jill And Terry}
Agonized screams filled the air as armed personnel collapsed one after another, their bodies hitting the ground lifelessly. The battlefield, once teeming with soldiers, was now reduced to a silent graveyard.
Jill and Terry found themselves standing alone, their comrades lying motionless around them. From commanding an entire unit, they were now commanders without troops, left to fend for themselves.
Terry's hands trembled as she stared at the fallen soldiers, disbelief written all over her face. "How is this even possible?" she muttered, her voice barely above a whisper.
Jill, however, narrowed her eyes and focused on the man standing before them. A deep scowl formed on her face. "Who the hell are you?" she demanded.
A slow, menacing smile curled William's lips. "Haha, Jill, have you really forgotten me? You don't even recognize your own man?"
Ada crossed her arms, eyeing William with mild amusement. "You said earlier that Alice was your woman, and now you're claiming Jill as well? Your relationships seem incredibly complicated."
William chuckled, exuding confidence. "An outstanding man like me is bound to have complicated relationships. It's a burden that often follows me."
Jill's expression darkened, her voice as cold as ice. "I don't know you."
William's gaze sharpened, and he pointed directly at her chest. "That's because you've been manipulated. The red spider on your chest—it's controlling you."
Jill looked down, her brows knitting together. "Lies. It's nothing but a decoration. You think I'll fall for your tricks?"
William sighed. "Looks like I'll have to handle this myself."
In an instant, his figure blurred, and before Jill could react, he was right in front of her. His fingers moved with lightning speed, tearing the red spider from her chest.
"Ahhh!" Jill let out a scream, collapsing onto the ground. Writhing in pain, she clutched at her chest, her breath ragged.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Terry fired three shots in rapid succession, her hands gripping the gun tightly. She knew it was useless, but instinct drove her to protect her comrade.
William effortlessly dodged the bullets, his body moving as if time itself slowed for him. The next second, he was in front of Terry, his hand darting out to remove the red spider from her chest as well.
"Ahhh!" Terry collapsed, her body convulsing as agony overtook her.
William held up the two robotic spiders, watching as they twitched violently in his grasp. "They're trying to take control of you again," he murmured before clenching his hand into a fist.
Sizzle!
Electric sparks danced between his fingers as the red spiders were crushed into nothing more than twisted metal and burnt circuits.
The two women lay on the ground, their bodies drenched in sweat, their breath coming in short, uneven gasps. The pain had drained their strength, leaving them exhausted.
William crouched beside them, his voice gentle but firm. "Can you recognize me now?"
Jill's unfocused eyes finally settled on his face. "William…"
Terry looked up at him, remorse evident in her expression. "Wi-William… I'm so sorry. I can't believe I actually attacked you."
William extended his hands and helped both of them up. "Don't blame yourselves. It wasn't your fault. You were being controlled."
Jill's gaze was filled with frustration as she clenched her fists. "Still… it's been so long, and you didn't come."
William rubbed the back of his head, flashing a sheepish grin. "Well, you know how it is. I've had my hands full. I'm a busy guy."
Ada smirked. "Busy handling all your complicated relationships with women?"
Jill glared at him. "I remember everything now. And I also remember what Ada just said."
Terry's voice trembled as she hesitated. "William… is Alice really your woman?"
A powerful aura radiated from William as he spoke with unwavering dominance. "Listen to me, both of you. You are my women too. That's how it is, and that's how it must be. There's no other choice."
Terry's lips parted slightly in shock. "Did I hear that right?"
Jill's fists tightened. "You bastard! You really want to have it all. You're too greedy. Hmph! Fine, you can have Alice and Terry, but I'm not interested."
William's grin turned wicked. "Jill, do you really think you have a choice? I don't mind taking what's mine."
Jill's eyes blazed with fury. "You…!"
Ada, observing the heated exchange, shook her head. "William, you have an incredible talent for saying the most outrageous things. I'm almost impressed."
Jill shot Ada a glare. "You think this is funny? This beast probably has his eyes on you too."
Ada feigned surprise. "Me? That's impossible. I have no interest in being part of his ever-expanding harem."
Terry, meanwhile, lowered her head, as if battling an internal struggle. Finally, she took a deep breath and spoke. "William… I, I don't mind. Even if there are other women."
Both Jill and Ada turned to stare at her in disbelief.
"Are you sure about this?" Ada asked.
Terry hesitated before nodding. "I won't lie. It bothers me a little… but William is strong. In this apocalyptic world, strength means survival. I just want stability, and above all, I like him. I want to be with him."
William's eyes softened. He pulled Terry into his arms, his embrace firm and protective. "Terry, I love you. Let's be together."
Terry's heart pounded in her chest. She melted into his embrace, feeling a rare sense of safety and happiness. "Yes…"
Jill clenched her fists, seething with irritation. "This damn bastard… damn it!"
Ada chuckled. "Feeling jealous?"
"No!" Jill snapped.
"You sure? Because your expression reminds me of someone."
"Who?"
"Alice. I saw the same look on her face when she talked about William. This man sure is lucky—so many women falling for him."
Jill scoffed. "I don't like him."
Ada smirked. "No need to explain. Explanation is just a form of denial."
"Hmph, whatever."
William released Terry and walked toward Jill, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Jill, you should learn from Terry."
"Go to hell, you arrogant bastard!" Jill glared at him, fists clenched.
Smirking, William pulled her into his arms. "You really are stubborn."
"Fuck you, why don't you die?" Jill glared at William.
William smiled and pulled Jill into his arms tighter, "You are really tough."
Jill struggled, her heart racing. "Let me go, you jerk!"
William's hand gently stroked her back, his voice dropping to a whisper. "Jill, it's been so long. I missed you."
Jill stopped struggling. A deep sigh escaped her lips. "Liar. You are a pervert, you have forgotten me for a long time. If you really missed me, you wouldn't have taken so long to come back."
For a moment, the tension between them melted away, replaced by something far more dangerous—unspoken emotions simmering beneath the surface.
