Celina never expected to gain a unique ability from the system, just by killing a human. She stared at the sword and the body before her.
'I killed someone'
The thought echoed in her mind.
The other knights, who had initially assumed she was there by mistake, now saw her as an enemy.
"Get rid of the kid!"
"Kill her!"
They charged towards her, weapons drawn. Celina dodged effortlessly, her sword cutting through their necks and piercing their chests. Her blade was even strong enough to shatter theirs.
Clyde had stopped fighting, watching as everyone turned their attention to Celina, desperately trying to kill her.
"She's stronger than I thought..." James folded his hands.
"How is she even moving like that? She's just a child" Freddie furrowed his eyebrows.
"Don't underestimate her. She's really good" Clyde smirked. Then he turned to the others. "Don't just stand there and let Celina do the whole work. Kill those pesky humans!" He ordered.
A battle cry erupted as the attack resumed.
Celina hadn't even used any of her abilities. She only relied on using aura, making it easy to exterminate those rushing at her with her sword.
"You... How can you side with those monsters?" One of them stammered, his body trembling in fear as he lay on the ground. Celina's feet pressed against his chest armour. She gazed down at him, her red eyes glowing ominously.
"Are you the devil's reincarnate? Those red eyes of yours..."
"Stop talking!" She drove her sword through his armour. He coughed up blood before going still. She hated it when they called her a devil because of her red eyes.
She pulled her blade free and gave it a quick swing, flicking the blood off. Scanning her surroundings, she realised some of them had already retreated.
"They left already?" She muttered.
"Good work, Celina" Clyde patted her head.
"You did a great job, Celina!"
"Way to go!"
They cheered for her.
Celina, who should have been pleased to finally receive a bit of attention from these people didn't feel anything at all. The only reason they acknowledged her was because she had done what they wanted...
To killhumans.
She glanced once more at the lifeless men scattered around her feet. She didn't feel too good. It didn't make her feel guilty, but the reason behind it did.
Ignoring their praise, she rubbed her chin and found somewhere quiet to check the system notification for her new ability.
She had acquired it after killing a human for the first time.
'Do I gain a new ability every time I kill a human? Well, I don't think so'
She folded her arms, inspecting it.
"It's not bad... Unlucky Reversal. I hope I never have to use it at all" she grumbled.
.
.
Meanwhile, the knights who had managed to escape from Celina and the others rushed back to where the Marquess was.
Garfield frowned at their panicked expressions.
"What's happening?" He demanded.
"My lord..."
"There... is a..." They panted, struggling to catch their breath.
Garfield didn't give them time to recover. He grabbed one of them by the neck.
"Speak now or I'll rip out your tongue"
Rowan, standing nearby, was also anxious to know what was happening.
"There's a child there..." The knight finally gasped.
Garfield's grip tightened. "You're running from a child?" He smirked before aggressively shoving the knight against the wall. "It seems like I'll have to go in there myself. We are clearing this dungeon today!"
He mounted his horse and rose into the dungeon.
Rowan helped the fallen knight to his feet.
"A child? What does she look like?"
"She has white hair and, her eyes... They were red. She's also a swordmaster, very ruthless and... and..." The knight hesitated, shaking his head.
Rowan patted his shoulder.
"It's fine. You don't have to say more. Join the others outside and rest. The Marquess will handle it"
With that, he turned and followed Garfield into the dungeon.
Though he was on foot, he ran as fast as he could, trying to catch up.
'A child? In a dungeon? White hair? Red eyes? A swordmaster? This must be fake news'
He sprinted through a tunnel and emerged on the other side.
.
Garfield had already arrived. He dismounted, unsheathing his sword as he stepped closer to the elves and their allies.
They were all terrified of him. Of course, they would. He was the famous Dragon Slayer.
"Who is the strongest among you?" He asked, pointing his sword.
The group stepped back but one elf stepped forward. Rowan recognised him immediately. They had fought months ago when he last came here. The elf was strong, but there was no way he could defeat Garfield.
Rowan shook his head, ignoring them. He was looking for the human as his gaze swept the area, searching.
"White hair... White hair" he mumbled under his breath, scanning his surroundings. He was there to save the human. He was thinking that she was being used as a weapon by the monsters.
But, she was nowhere in sight.
.
.
Clyde stood before Garfield, trembling. He wasn't sure why he stepped forward. Maybe, if he could buy time for the others to escape and bring reinforcement...
'No... We don't need more people. One of the leaders has to be here. I know I can't fight this man. His aura... it's just as strong as Celina's. But, I won't let an eleven years old child fight this monster'
He clenched his fist around his sword and took a stance.
"Clyde! Don't even think of fighting! Let's run away together!" Freddie shouted.
"Shut up! If we run, he'll come after us and they'll invade our world. Get one of the leaders. Go! Run away!" Clyde yelled back, not taking his eyes off Garfield.
"Clyde!!!" Freddie screamed.
Clyde's frown deepened.
"James, take him away from here. Hurry and get someone, Queen Lyra, Lord Aetherius... anyone at all" he said.
"Yes," James responded without hesitation. In one swift motion, he struck the back of Freddie's neck. Freddie slumped unconscious into James' arms, and they immediately fled.
The vampires escorted the healers out. They had all managed to escape.
Garfield watched them go before bursting into laughter.
"Do you think you can kill me?"
"No. I know you're stronger," Clyde admitted. "But I know someone stronger than you are"
Garfield's smirk vanished as he heard that. His grip on his sword tightened, his teeth gritting together.
"I'll kill you, hunt down those monsters and tear them limb from limb. I will clear this dungeon by all means" he declared, pointing his sword at Clyde
