Lyra, dressed in a long cloak, finally emerged from the dungeon and made her way towards one of the cities in the Lurris Kingdom. She could have fled to a different kingdom, but she was too lazy to bother. Besides, moving around with a concealed identity would be difficult.
She wore an artifact that made her appear more human-like. Her horns had disappeared, her nails were shorter, her eyes had turned black and white, and her once-rough skin had become pale and... soft.
'Ugh! I hate being human!'
She cursed under her breath, pulling her hood over her dark hair as she approached the city gates. Guards were stationed there, searching people before allowing them entry.
They claimed it was for safety, but Lyra knew better. It was just an excuse for them to steal from the poor.
She folded her hands and watched as a guard shoved a woman to the ground and stomped on her simply because she couldn't pay the entrance fee.
