Maureen suddenly realized that she was speaking as tartly as if she had bitten into a green apple, leaving her a bit embarrassed and unnatural.
She quickly changed the subject.
"Wait, let me find the room key."
She opened the door and inserted the room key into the wall slot.
The lights came on and the air conditioner began humming.
Following her, Liam bent over to put a large suitcase of gifts on the floor by the wall.
Realizing he had actually entered Maureen's hotel room, presuming the girl's bed must be covered with clothes and such, Liam's ear turned slightly red, he dared not look further inside.
He stiffly returned to the door, his tall frame nearly reaching the doorframe, completely blocking the outside sunlight.
"What exactly is the gift?"
Maureen couldn't help but squat down to open the presents as soon as she took off her coat. Liam's heart skipped a beat.
