"Why has Enzo never replied to any of my letters about his return?" Damien asked.
Andrei didn't hesitate for even a second and shook his head. "I do not know why, my liege."
Damien hummed, nodding slowly, though it was clear he wasn't satisfied with that answer. His gaze flickered to Vincent, who stood stiffly behind Andrei, and the moment their eyes met, his head gaze immediately dropped to the floor.
Andrei noticed the exchange, but his own attention remained fixed on Damien.
"I've heard of a girl lingering in Enzo's life," Damien continued. "It's been quite some time since Vincent here told me about her." He cast another glance at Vincent, who was silently wishing for the ground to open and swallow him.
"I know my son well. He doesn't keep people around for long—so this one must be special. So tell me, Andrei—who is she? And more importantly, what is she to him?"
