Just as suddenly as her laughter had started, she abruptly stopped, lifted her head, and met his gaze. For a moment, they both stared at each other. Then they both burst into laughter at the same time.
Enzo leaned back against the seat, shaking his head, while Adeline wiped a stray tear from her eye, her shoulders trembling from how hard she was laughing. It wasn't even that funny, but something about the ridiculousness of the moment set them both off.
When their laughter finally died down, Enzo's eyes gleamed with mischief as he leaned in close. His lips grazed the shell of her ear, his voice lowering to a husky whisper.
"You know, I think I deserve a reward when we get back home… if you know what I mean." He wiggled his eyebrows suggestively.
Adeline, still catching her breath from laughing, rolled her eyes. She lifted her hand and slid her palm between her ear and his face, pushing his head away slowly. "We'll see."
