Scoffing, she lifted the cup again. "I suppose I'll manage."
She took another sip. Then another, and before she knew it, the cup was empty.
Blinking down at it, she exhaled through her nose, begrudgingly reaching for the teapot to pour herself more. But as she lifted it, a small, yellow piece of paper, weakly glued underneath, slipped free and fluttered down onto the tray.
Setting the teapot aside, she picked up the note and unfolded it.
Her eyes scanned the words, and her left eye twitched as she read, "I knew you'd love it." A small heart was also drawn next to the words.
She crushed the paper in her fist and hurled it forward with all her might. "Smug idiot!"

Enzo strode through the second-floor hallway, scrolling through his phone with one hand while carrying a takeaway bag in the other.
He had planned to return much earlier, but a few annoying problems at the company had kept him tied up longer than expected.
