Enzo nodded in satisfaction and shifted his hold, setting her down in front of him and giving her head a quick pat.
She scowled, slapping his hand away. "Don't touch me."
He chuckled and turned toward the bedside table, gesturing at the takeaway bag sitting on top of it. "Are you hungry? I bought something for you on my way back."
Adeline's stomach felt oddly full despite not eating anything all day. She hadn't even realized it until now, but she hadn't felt hungry at all.
"Maybe I drank too much of that tea," she thought as Enzo's fingers wrapped around her wrist. She shrugged the thought away, allowing him to pull her toward the bed.
When they reached the edge, he grasped both of her arms and applied just enough pressure to guide her down to sit before settling beside her and grabbing the bag.
He pulled out a black plastic container and a pair of chopsticks, tossing the bag aside as he adjusted himself to face her.
