Chapter 13 - Interrogation II

Windy stops trying to struggle and accepts her current situation since she couldn't move. She releases a breath and asks Atlas her last question.

"What happened to the beast core?"

Atlas grabs the Truth Seeker next to him on Windy's bed so their curiosity can be clenched and he can finally understand the things he needs in this world.

"I don't know." Atlas truthfully answered. It was Cel who took the beast core while Atlas was unconscious so he really is unaware that it is in his possession.

"How did you increase your rank if you don't have or used the beast core?" Grayzer this time asked a question.

"If I knew I would say." Atlas responded "I really don't know what this beast core you're talking about is."

The Truth Seeker shined blue and the ding sounded.

"Ahhhh," Grayzer yelled ruffling his hair in confusion "what are we going to tell young master Alex! They won't accept this simple 'I don't know.'"

"Pfft, Young master? You guys serve some kind of royalty or something." Atlas asked letting out a quick laugh. But when he looked between the serious faces he realized they weren't joking.

"Wait, seriously?"

"Yes! And that Wildfire Boar was going to be Young Master Kevin's spirit bond." Grayzer replied to Atlas pacing back and forth in the room.

"What's a spirit bond?" Atlas wondered with curiosity as he follows Grayzer pacing back and forth in front of him.

"Are you stupid?" Grayzer inquired as he stopped pacing, "Who doesn't know what a spirit bond is?"

"First off F U," Atlas begins pointing his finger in Grayzer's direction. "And second off, this guy doesn't know." He points his thumb towards himself.

"That's the thing though...wait what's your name?" Grayzer began but trailed off when he didn't catch his name since his vision was black for a brief second from face planting the floor.

"Oh right, I'm Atlas. Your mother introduced you so no introduction needed Grayzer."

Grayzer nods his head before continuing, "As I was saying, the thing is Atlas, every child is thought the different realms and what they do from the moment they're able to talk. No matter of status. So unless you lived under a rock or lost your memory, it's strange you don't know."

"Oh...uh...I did lose my memory." Atlas lied for the first time forgetting that he was still holding on to the Truth Seeker so it shined red and gave off the sound that is similar to when a wrong answer is provided.

Damn, I messed up!

Atlas forced a smile with his lips twitching.

"It finally makes sense, I never thought I'd meet someone like you in person." Rose said walking towards Atlas and kneeling down in front of him and grabbing his wrist looking at his tattoo bands.

"I used to hear stories about beings from higher realms said to even come from the heavens or underworld themselves. On their body, tattoo like marks that assist them on their journey of crossing between realms."

Rose rubs her thumbs on Atlas's tattoos on his wrist before looking at Atlas's feminine face.

"A myth talked about like stories to children and a legend to those who lived the day to see them. These individuals are said to be either protectors or destroyers depending on what they believe in or how they are treated and are even worshipped as Gods by others. Now apparently a few of these beings are left, some might even say they are extinct. One rumor has it that they are even the ones said to bless us with the ability to cultivate and become closer to achieve Godhood ourselves. Another even says that they originated from our world and are just our ancestors who achieved Godhood before us.

And now I believe I'm looking at one of those beings now." Rose's voice quivered at the end as her body seemed to start to shake. Not sure if it's due to nervousness or just plan fear. Windy and Grayzer never seen their mother like this and it worried them. Only time she acts similar to this is when she's in front of a Blaze clan Elder.

"If they will it they can help worlds elevate to new heights or destroy it as easily as breathing." Rose slowly lowers Atlas's arms to his lap and scoots back on her knees sitting in a kneeling position in front of Atlas.

"These beings were called Realm Walkers, those that mend or shatter realms how they see fit." Rose says grabbing onto her martial robe on her legs in fistfuls. "Grayzer I need you to kneel beside me now."

Grayzer wanted to question his mother on what she just said and wonder if it was true, but immediately did as his mother requested.

When Atlas was hearing her explanation he couldn't help but think that Rose was going crazy. But when she mentioned Realm Walker Atlas's brows furrowed. That couldn't be true. Was it truly possible that he came from beings as grand as Rose made them out to be. It doesn't seem real...it couldn't be real. Could it?

Atlas rubbed the tattoo bands around his wrist as if trying to rub away a soreness.

"Atlas, may I request you to release my daughter."

Atlas nods his head and turns towards Windy with his eyes still closed causing Windy to flinch and gulp audibly. Watching Atlas slowly open his eyes was torture cause she didn't know what he could command her to do.

'Wait...can't he command someone to die if he wanted to.'

"Wa—," Windy wanted to tell Atlas to wait but her eyes turned dull when Atlas's eyes locked with hers.

"You may move." Atlas said and closed his eyes again. When Windy's eyes returned to normal she dropped to her knees and scurried next to her kneeling mother assuming the same position.

"Atlas," Rose whispered his name as she looks towards Atlas. "Is what I said before true? Did you come here from a different world?"

Atlas sighed sadly before responding to Rose's questions "I don't know if it's true, but..." he trailed off looking at the clear object still in his hands. "I do believe I came here from a different world."

The Truth Seeker again turned blue and everyone in the room looked down at the floor in front of them.

"What is your purpose?" Rose asked still staring at the floor.

"To find out who and what I am," Atlas truthfully answered looking down at his wireframes hands with his void vision. He looks out the window and sees the fog like energy representing the suns rays.

"It was just yesterday I entered this world, and it was just yesterday I turned 13 in a world where no one has any abilities. It was very lonely there." Atlas continued as he looked at the window.

"I left behind two friends who I grew up with who probably think I'm a monster now. I left behind two adoptive parents who raised me with love." A tear falls from his right eye as he turns back to look to Rose from staring at the window.

Rose raised her head to see the tears falling from the corner of Atlas's closed eyes.

"I wanted to make friends, not enemies. But...if what you said is even the slightest truth. Am I a monster anywhere I go then?"

"Heh, the moment I entered this world I survive on the brink of death to wake up in an unknown room. Nearly strangled to death for speaking my given name." Atlas says looking at Windy who felt that it was directed at her and flinched.

"Just to be interrogated for something I know nothing about because I killed some beast that tried to kill me." He looks at Grayzer who had a similar reaction to Windy and flinched.

"The world is truly cruel no matter where you go." Atlas said before lowering his head to his hands feeling the urge to yell but bit it back by biting hard on his lower lip.

Rose gets up from her kneeling position, taking a couple steps to Atlas and wrapping her arms around Atlas. Even if she was taken aback to what Atlas could be. Any mother seeing a child cry would have their motherly instincts tugged at, so she felt she had to comfort him.

The sudden embrace broke the seal of silent tears that Atlas was holding back and he silently cried in her arms while Rose caressed his head. He grabbed the sides of Rose's martial robe with quivering hands and pulled her closer.

"There, there little one. It must've been tough and scary." Rose spoke in a motherly voice as she continued caressing Atlas's head.

Windy and Grayzer looked at each other strangely wondering what to do in this situation. What are they going to tell their young masters? It turns out that Atlas did kill the boar they weakened and wounded but what about the beast core. Guess they'll find out what to do soon.

When Atlas's tears begin to come to a stop, Rose takes a step back and wipes his tears away with her thumbs while cupping his face between her hands softly.

"Come now, you must be hungry. I doubt you had anything to eat since coming to this world." Rose said and as if on cue everyone's stomachs growled with hunger.

"Th-thank you miss Rose." Atlas stuttered first grateful for comforting him as well as being offered a meal.

Grayzer and Windy stand up and walk out Windy's room while Rose follows behind her children and Atlas behind Rose.

Grayzer and Windy take a seat at a low level square wooden table surrounded by four cushions on each side. It looked similar to a Japanese style dining table.

Windy sat down first and Grayzer followed sitting opposite from her. Rose heads to prepare their breakfast in the kitchen. Atlas sits down to Windy's left and Grayzer's right and look between them with a neutral face.

"Um...I know we got off on the wrong foot, but I still want to thank you for not leaving me in the forest. So, uh, thanks." Atlas says breaking the silence scratching the right side of his cheek.

Grayzer nods his head and responds "Sure."

It falls into a silence between them again while the only sounds in the background is of Rose preparing the breakfast.

"What are your realms and rank if you don't mind me asking?" Atlas inquired

"I'm in the Spirit realm, rank 5." Grayzer answered playing with the bangs of his straight green hair with dark orange strands styled in a short ponytail style. Atlas nods his head and turns to Windy who clears her throat before replying.

"I-I'm also in the spirit realm, rank 3."

"Cool," Atlas says with fascination, "what's the difference between the awakened and spirit realm?" Atlas wondered as he looks between the two siblings.

"Hmm I guess the major difference is that the awakened realm focuses on strengthening the body while the spirit realm focuses on strengthening the soul and comprehending things beyond the physical." Grayzer responds to Atlas's question.

"For example," Windy begins taking over with talking getting Atlas's attention, "in the awakened realm we enhance our 5 senses. Taste, smell, vision, hearing, and touch while increasing our bodies durability.

In the spirit realm, we unlock what we call perception, which gives us the ability to sense the world around us without our bodies. Even though I am looking at you I can "see" what Mom is doing behind me. She is about to grab a pot from the ground to put on the stove."

Atlas looks behind Windy to see Rose bending down to pick up a pot and indeed put it on the stove. Rose briefly turns her gaze towards Atlas and smiles shaking her head.

"She just looked at you smiled and shook her head." Windy says as she felt what her mother did behind her.

"That's amazing. So it's like the spiritual version of my void vision."

"Void vision?" Windy furrowed her brows.

"Yeah, it's my ability that allows me to see without actually seeing." Atlas says pointing to his closed eyes. "I mean having an ability to command people with just locking eyes with them you're kind of forced to learn to see without actually seeing."

"You're just full of surprises aren't you?" Grayzer couldn't help but stare at Atlas with disbelief.

"I guess." Atlas replied shrugging his shoulders with a smile on his face. "I just find it fascinating to be able to talk with others with special abilities of their own. Makes a lonely person feel less lonely, you know."

"How long have you had that ability?" Windy asked with fascination.

"Void vision? Hmm...," Atlas looks up to the ceiling thinking about his answer rocking back and forth on the cushion. "I've been able too since I've been able to walk and talk, so probably around 12 years now."

"Seriously?!"

Atlas nodded his head with a smile but that smile slowly disappears as he now thinks of something that's been intriguing him the moment he entered this world. "But somethings strange."

"What is?" Grayzer wondered

"Ever since I entered this world my void vision seemed different. I now see all these strange particles of light of different colors. And surrounding you and Grayzer is this dark orange and green aura. But the dark orange is stronger with yours Windy."

"Mana Sight?" Rose turned to Atlas and appeared in front of him almost as if she just teleported surprising him. "That sounds like Mana Sight! Tell me, Atlas, what do you see for me."

"Umm, green with small hints of blue. The blue is almost the same shade as the green though."

"Haha...that's true. I have a high wind affinity with a very low affinity with water. I'm sure of it, it's Mana Sight you have. And compared to the lights you see around you. How much of them are surrounding your body?"

"Uhhh...," Atlas looks at the particles of mana around him differentiating the colors and looking at how much surrounded his body in an aura similar to Rose, Windy, and Grayzer.

"All of them?"
