"You... You actually know about me?!!" Parker stared at Peter in shock, instinctively taking several steps back. "Who the hell are you?!"
In his understanding, the fact that he was actually Doctor Octopus on the inside was something even the Avengers of his original universe weren't supposed to know.
At most, they might have had some suspicions, but as long as he avoided contact with them, they wouldn't be able to confirm anything for quite some time.
Yet unexpectedly, in this unfamiliar universe, a complete stranger—someone he had never met before (since the Spider-Man from this world was definitely not the same one he knew)—had exposed his secret in a single sentence.
"Relax, I have no ill intentions toward you—at least, not right now," Peter shook his head slightly.
He then raised his hand and made a few gestures in the air.
The corpses of this universe's Fantastic Four floated up and were sent one by one into a portal.
Peter transported them to the Baxter Building.
Consider it his way of paying for the "rental" of their good friend's body.
After that, he reached out and swiped his hand to the side, opening a portal to a parallel universe right next to them.
"Let's go, to your base first." Peter gestured to Parker before stepping into the portal.
Parker hesitated for a moment but ultimately chose not to resist too much and followed behind him.
The moment he stepped inside, he immediately noticed the difference between this portal and the ones he created using his own technology.
His portals made with technology always made people feel incredibly uncomfortable upon entering.
But this mysterious parallel universe Spider-Man's portal felt as natural as stepping through his own front door. There were no negative effects at all, and the speed was astonishingly fast.
Upon arriving in the Earth-928 universe, the first thing Peter did was use the technology available there to repair his suit.
Though the Spider-Man of this universe had become part of the Fantastic Five, he hadn't made many upgrades to his suit—after all, even Mister Fantastic and the others hadn't added too many enhancements to their own.
But Peter was no longer the same as before; he wasn't some inexperienced novice anymore. Making a new suit was a simple task for him.
He designed a new Spider-Man suit in the style he was most accustomed to—modeled after his nano vibranium suit. The only difference was that he didn't use vibranium for the materials; other than that, he faithfully recreated all the technological aspects.
During this process, Parker didn't interrupt him and simply let him tinker with the equipment—equipment that he had painstakingly "borrowed" from various sources.
In reality, he was silently evaluating Peter in his mind, analyzing him from every angle.
Peter, however, didn't care what he was thinking.
He hadn't gone through all the trouble of coming back from the "future" to this "past" just to have a casual meet-up with Parker or any other Spider-Man.
Once he finished crafting and changing into his new suit, he looked at Parker and spoke.
"You must be curious about my origins, right?"
Parker slowly nodded.
Peter shrugged. "But I don't feel like telling you. All you need to know is that I'm also a Spider-Man, and I have no ill intentions toward you or the others. In fact, I'm here to guide you toward doing what you want to do."
"You know what I want to do?" Parker was stunned.
"Of course," Peter replied. "The Inheritors—that's the name of that family."
"What do you mean?" Parker asked, confused.
At this moment, he still had no idea that the terrifying force he had unintentionally come into contact with belonged to the Inheritor family.
Peter then took the time to explain the origins of the Inheritors and their purpose.
After listening, Parker was utterly shocked.
And even… a little afraid.
A terrifying family that has traveled through countless parallel universes, hunting down numerous Spider-Men—even capturing the god of the Spider Totem!
"What's wrong? Are you scared? Thinking of backing out?" Peter glanced at him and sneered.
He had some understanding of Zhang Parker's temperament.
This guy was arrogant, held himself in high regard, and believed he was definitely superior to Peter Parker.
But in reality, his resilience was far inferior to Peter Parker's.
Otherwise, he wouldn't have chosen to return his body to Peter Parker when facing a crisis in the near future.
"Back out?" However, Zhang Parker, who had yet to experience true despair, still retained his arrogance.
Being provoked by Peter, he immediately flared up. Since Peter already knew his true identity, he no longer bothered to conceal it:
"I am Otto, the greatest genius of the 21st century! Even the technology of the 22nd century pales in comparison to my brilliance! Me? Back down? Afraid? Do you really think I—"
"What?"
In a flash, Peter appeared right in front of Zhang Parker, smiling.
Buzz!
Zhang Parker's spider-sense flared wildly on instinct.
Countless waves of magical energy surged in from all directions, as if the entire world was collapsing upon him.
His eyes widened in shock, and for an instant, sheer terror enveloped his heart, forcefully swallowing the words he was about to say.
Whoosh—
The feeling came and went just as quickly.
Thud!
Zhang Parker fell to his knees, gasping for air.
Peter crouched down, placing a hand on his shoulder, his tone gentle—showing no trace of the oppressive force he had just exerted.
"I told you, I mean you no harm. On the contrary, I'm here to help you."
"Who the hell are you?!" Zhang Parker growled from the ground, humiliated at having been completely subdued by someone's mere presence.
"I come from the future. I've traveled through time to be here. You can call me... the Time-Space Spider-Man."
As he spoke, Peter patted Zhang Parker's shoulder, then opened a portal behind him. With a light step backward, he disappeared through it, leaving this world.
Zhang Parker remained on his knees, his entire body trembling.
It was a long time before he finally stood up.
"Doctor?"
His assistant, Anna, called out.
Zhang Parker wiped the cold sweat from his mask, staring at the spot where Peter had vanished. After a long silence, he spoke.
"As the Time-Space Spider-Man said, it's time for us to gather our forces. Anna, open a portal to another universe."
"Understood, Doctor."
Whoosh—
Zhang Parker disappeared from this universe as well.
——
Earth-311.
This is a parallel universe that branched out from Earth-460 due to the conflict between the Purple Man and Captain America.
Its timeline is currently in the year 1602.
That year, Shakespeare's Twelfth Night had its first performance at the Middle Temple in London.
And in this universe, the Spider-Man known as Peter Parquagh was a Scotsman.
Within the darkness of this world lurked mysterious forces, one of which was known as the Witchborn.
Peter Parquagh was chosen by a Spider-Witch as one of their own.
However, unlike many versions of Peter, he neither succumbed to darkness nor chose to become a superhero. Instead, he pursued his dreams and became a stage actor.
But today's performance was destined to be anything but peaceful.
